Ive had these contacts for a few months and ready to get my new batch. But I was curious about whether or not the actual lens gets warped with time and usage or is it that I need a new prescription?

What kind of contacts are you wearing? I wear gas permeable and generally keep them for at least a couple of years (or until I lose them). Your eye doctor can check to make sure they aren't scratched, but mine never are.

I think he must be talking about some kind of long-term disposable lens.

I think I can wear them up to a month or two. I usually get six pair soft lenses. But I am interested in the long lasting lenses.

The ones you have to change monthly get deposits on them and cut the oxygen flow to your eyes. Eventually the blood vessels go "out" in search of oxygen, which can impair your vision.

At least that's how my eye doctor explained it to me.

i switched from the regular contacts to the "day & night" 2 years ago, i'll never go back to regular soft lenses even though these cost about twice as much. it made a HUGE difference in terms of comfort at night. ask for a trail pair. =)
