Anybody have any clue what they are putting in across from Dirty's? RIght now it is just a pile of rubble with a bunch of machinery. If somebody were smart they would make it a chic-fil-a or however you hyphen it. Damn central austin needs one so desperately.

WB always wanted a campus location. Heard they had talked to the Easy rhino guy about the property before, pretty sure its coming.

Don't think its zoned for residential and didn't remember seeing a variance hearing. Pretty sure its food, and pretty sure its WB.

i have also heard Whataburger from several sources. i live next to the damned thing, i need to just ask one of the construction workers. i would never leave this apartment complex if they built a whataburger next door.

NOTHING gets by you. You are like Geritol to an old lady. But he brings up a good point. Are you suggesting they have delivery to your complex?

Also gone is Half Price books further up the road, a new Starbucks and three lots of new construction. Upper Guadalupe equals teh suck.

Downtown... the long promised 2nd street district is looking like it might actually happen. The trees along the sidewalk with large pedestrian areas is a huuuge step up.

there's gonna be a Marriot down by the railyard, right? Is that gonna add anything to our skyline? What about the purported building on 6th and congress.

thanks JA. Some of those seem to be behind schedule. Hope it's still gonna happen. Wish the buildings could be taller, but in a way, I think the denser the skyline the better. imo, from certain angles, our skyline looks better than Houston's.

I wish it could be taller too, but yeah - I think filling in as many ground level central Austin parking lots (especially in 78701) shoudl be a priority. Our downtown has potential but is obviously a few years from being fully realized. Its still 'quaint'.

Increasing densification of downtown with retail and residential growth and increased walkability would be excellent.

Its not a Whataburger. Its apartments. At one time it was going to be condos. The developer bought Guadalupe Villas next to the new construction.
