Congrats to the Baylor Bears

As bad as they've been in the past, i've always had a soft spot for the Baylor, considering i've spent half of my life living in Waco

. Josh Lomers played on a select basketball team with one of my very close friends, and Henry Dugat started alongside my cousin for the Dayton Broncos in high school so i've always followed these two. Scott Drew has done a fantastic job over up in Waco when you consider what state this program was in just a few years ago on and off the court. Plus they are fun to watch, and i personally think freshman Lacedarius Dunn will end up being 1st team all big 12 before its all said and done. The guy is a stud.

I kind of thought they wouldn't make it in. They really fell apart at the end of the year.

Glad they did, though.

Count me in as one who is glad to see it! Not as happy about them as I am about us being in Houston, but happy nonetheless.

I usually like Vitale for the most part, but he & Bilas (as well as Phelps) were flat out wrong when they said Va Tech should've been in over BU. I know the Bears have the worst loss between the 2, but they've also got 4 wins (Winthrop, Notre Dame, KSU, & A&M) over teams that made the dance. Va. Tech has all of 1 such win (Miami), & they've also got a few losses (Richmond, PSU, ODU) that while they may not be quite as bad as CU, are nothing to hold their heads high about either.

Here's to Baylor not just getting in but getting it together and doing some damage. Congrats.

Sic 'em!

Congrats...I was worried they might get weasled out.

They have a better seed I think than Aggy. If Aggy wins, they WILL be playing a 1 Seed. Bears won't.

Hook'em!!!

Thanks guys..... i think we match up well with Purdue. We'll just have to see which Baylor teams shows up...... Love to get a win on Thursday for the Big 12.

This is great for Baylor and the Big XII.

The Bears not only deserve to be there, they have a chance to make some noise if they are on their game.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. As you can imagine, Baylor fans are pretty excited.

Considering where this program was just 3-4 years ago, I think Scott Drew has done an absolutely amazing job. I have to say that I never thought we'd have a truly competitive program this soon after the semi-death penalty.

More importantly, I'm happy that Baylor is contributing to the overall success of the conference in more than just the minor sports. Don't get me wrong- I appreciate success in tennis, women's basketball, and (of course) baseball...but football and men's basketball pay the bills.

Thanks again!

I am personally happy for Baylor, but why are most of you so giddy considering the anti-Drew sentiment lately?

Some idiot Texas fan was even arguing for Drew to be conference coach of the year this season over the obviously superior Barnes.

Ridiculous.

after engaging in some of the most egregious cheating in college athletics that, at best, involved grossly negligent oversight by the entire athletic department, i'm glad to see Baylor in the tournament.

I, too, have them losing to Duke in the Sweet 16. They can play with anybody, and I'm banking on the fact that the players are going to be excited to play in the tourney.
