For successfully throwing the game against Kansas, depriving Texas of a shot at an uncontested Big XII Title.

Nah. One win does it. 8-8 in conference with wins over UT, OU and at Baylor is enough. A loss to Iowa State and it gets interesting, but the bubble is awful overall.

So the 2008 Texas A&M Aggies will be the first ever 8-8 Big 12 conference team to make the big dance?

I'm not saying it won't happen, but I will say that I'll believe it when I see it.

Somehow, they're winning in the Lonestar Showdown. You just watch - if we win the NCAA title in basketball and baseball, they'll still blather incessantly about their "triumph" in the Showdown.

There's a good chance A&M is going to beat Texas handily in the State Farm Lone Star Showdown, with track counting for as many points as it does. Bill Byrnes has done a great job building up the women's programs, to where they're better than UT's at the moment.

if that helps them get through the day, to win the lone star showdown, im happy for them. no matter how many times in a row we win, no matter what happens in any sporting event, they will continue to think they are "the" school in texas. im glad they have a great womens program. building champions!

I agree with KosherHorn, one win should do it. But the Aggies better hope a lot of the 1-seeds win their respective conference tourneys. There is a finite amount of at-large's available.

It bothers me that they are going to win the SF showdown. It bothers me when those yahoos beat us in anything.

They gotta win one for sure. No way they go to the dance with a 1 and done in the tourney. It's too easy for the committee to just take the top 4 and be done with the Big 12. They gotta have a reason to pick the aggs and they look at how you finished. A 1 and done loss to another bad team and there's just no compelling reason to pick the aggs outside of a record built on beating bad non-conf teams. With a quick loss, they would essentially be sub 500 in conference games and be NIT bound.
