Computer slowing down

What are the things I can do to speed it up? Running XP, Home. Dell Dimension. Thanks.

Run anti-spyware programs, drop any superfluous **** from your systray, make sure you don't have programs that run in the background.

The most effective way to do it is to save anything you need to a CD/disk/webserver and do a clean install of your OS.

Get CCleaner. Run the cleaner for all three tabs (Windows, Applications, and Issues) once a week.

Then get Reg Seeker. Check all keys under 'Clean the Registry' and run it. Do this whenever you defrag.

Disable any Windows XP services you don't need. That can make a huge difference.

download ewido and run it. sorry, don't know the website offhand, google it. It catches things that other spyware blasters don't.
