I am having problems opening up hornfans on my laptop at home. I can see a glance of the website then it fails to come up. Any suggestions and/or things to do to make this problem go away? I have 20 other sites bookmarked and this problem is only with hornfans.
Do you have a dialup or broadband connection? Are you experiencing any other abnormalities with that machine? Are you having trouble loading ANY page from hornfans or just particular ones?
I have broadband, cable. Hornfans is the only site that will not work. I can see very quick glimpses of the site, then it goes to the page that says cannot connect problem with site or settings......
What I asked is if you can load ANY pages from hornfans or are just having problems with particular ones. Try going directly to different pages hosted at hornfans and let me know what happens (as opposed to just typing inThe Link Also, try using a different browser and let me know what happens with that as well. I'm not trying to be mean, but if you want help with something like this, you need to read directions and follow them rather than just repeating general statements like "I can't load hornfans!"
I have a problem with my pc come to think about it. I think my monitor went out but that's not the problem. When I start up my pc, It usually takes a little bit to come up (when the monitor was working). I've tried to turn it on recently and am able to turn it off immediately by pressing the button on the cpu. Usually, in the past, it took about 8 seconds for it to shut off if you were shutting down w/o going through windows. Any ideas?? Both cpu and monitor were working a couple of days ago. I'm pretty sure my monitor's fried though. Any ideas on the cpu though?
Many times a monitor has a test pattern if it is on but not plugged to a computer. I would try that. Is there a little power light indicator that changes to green when it is on? Some have off, amber, green tiny power indicators. Off is obvious, amber could be trouble, green is typically good.
Do you have a spare monitor from another machine to try with your computer? Do you have a laptop to plug your current monitor into to test it that way?
Another thing to do is unplug the power cord from the back of the monitor, if it is removeable, and plug it back in carefully but firmly. That is pretty common for the back connection on the monitor to wiggle loose.
There is not much of a way to test your "cpu" if you don't have a working monitor.
Just getting back to you all with what I've found. I've tried the suggestions regarding the monitor and have checked all connections and have not had any success. I'm afraid it's hosed. I'm in the process of finding an alternate monitor to test the cpu. I'll get back as soon as I get that done. Thanks for the suggestions!
