Anyone know if the Comp USA stores are still open and selling at a discount here in Austin?

the discounts are not that good nationwide. I'd stay away from it. the folks at consumerist have noted all sorts of crap related to this closeout

I popped in last week and the one in sunset valley was still open but stock was dwindling fast. Very little left.

Either they upped the price on everything 30% to discount it 30%, or that place was way more ******* expensive than I remember. What 360/PS3/Wii games they had left were "originally" priced at like $65, when I had just seen them at Target for $50.

I bought one of these for about $4.50.

I figured there was no way it could be defective, and I didn't have to pay shipping on it. Everything else there was crap.

The Tower Records of electronics. Even their 'sale' prices are higher than you can find most other places. Good riddance.

If you go in and buy discounted stuff... DOUBLE CHECK THEIR REGISTER!

I've gone in a bought a few things, and they've tried to overcharge me every single time... A couple of times they've taken the wrong discount, a couple of times, they've started out with the wrong price, and once, they tried to charge me the canadian price for a magazine (almost double)...

...take a calculator and paper.
