I hope we take 3 or 4 OL in 2010. You need 12 good OL without counting true freshman who usually red shirt. We are gonna lose 3 after this year and 5 more the next year. That will leave us just 8 plus whatever we sign in 2010.

Agreed. We need to take at least 3-4 in 2010 for future needs for the 2011 year. Sure we are loaded in 2009 and 2010. After 2009 we will lose 3, all 3 starters. After 2010 we will lose 5 with at least 2 (and I would expect at least 3) starters. The lineman who come in in 2010 can redshirt in 2010 will have ample opportunity to compete for starting positions and or ample playing time in 2011 as even with them we will not be loaded for 2011. If we only take one limeman in 2010, we will find ourselves thin in OL for 2011 and may have to play true freshman in 2011 like what happened in 2007.

You have to reload every year. Especially at a position where you have 5 starters and 10 in the 2 deep. No way I would say that in 2010 we will have a true 2 deep with extra on the bench just in case. But real need is OG and this kid can play that position.
