Coming to Boulder?

I'm partial to The Sink. That's where you'll find me on Friday night, among a few other places on The Hill.

So Bernard you're going to the game? I thought you had to stay out of Colorado due to some legal issues that have been left 'pending' ?

For several years, The Cork was managed by a TexasEx from memorial HS in Houston. Haven't been there in years, but they did ahve one of the best dessert I've ever eaten - "Fruit Taco", waffle cornucopia filled with dark and white chocolate mouse, surrounded by rasberries and strawberries.

Unless you want a good chance of coming back with "CU fans suck" threads, I recommend to avoid The Hill. I went to the Hill years ago during a summer conference and I had a blast. But 4 years ago for the CU game, we skipped the Hill and stuck to Pearl Street. If you head to the Hill, you have a good chance of running it to the bad CU fans.

Just my 2 cents.

And I wish I was going this weekend. Sucks that I can't make it.

Let's see... I was out and about on The Hill before the Texas-CU game in 1993, 1996, 2000, and 2004. I encountered nothing more than some good natured smack talking from the CU students and recent alums. CU students are fairly typical, although the dudes smoke a lot more pot and chicks are more granola than most other places. They do have an annoying and Aggie-like tendency to shout out things like, "Go back to Tex-***!!!!!" and think they are being very clever. I toss up horns and yell, "Hook 'em Horns" right back to 'em. Then again maybe no one talk **** to me because I'm 6'5" and 250#. Others experience may vary.

Pearl Steet is very subdued. My grandparents would go there if they weren't already dead.

As far as my pending legal problems are concerned, **** it. I have a good football steak going (since 2000) and I'm not ready to break it just yet. If I end up in Boulder County Jail, it'll just be deja vu all over again. The street cops in Boulder are ********, but the jailers are actually the nicest I've ever come across.

What Bernard said. Anybody who skips this game because they have "bad fans" is missing a great roadie. I've only been once but encountered nothing that I don't encounther anywhere else.

Not much within walking distance of the Westin. There's a Dave & Buster's and that's about it other than restaurants. I would suggest going back to Boulder. It's a 15-20 minute cab ride back into Boulder.

Mark my words. Illegal Pete's burrito. And get the pesto.

Chicken pesto burrito at illegal pete's. I lived on that for two years. damn I so wish I was going this weekend. you will all have a great time.

PS If you're looking for a great dive/greasy spoon breakfast place, about 30 seconds north of pearl off broadway in a shopping center. It's next to or a couple of shops over from Broadway bagel. Can't remember the name but it's great. If it's not there go to Broadway bagel. It's great, too. Sit outside and chill. My old stomping grounds...

Thanks for all the great info! The family and I are expecting to have a great time there. Can't wait to see all the other Horn fans to share the enjoyment with.
