It is super dweeby but in a cool way. I saw a report on it on the G4 channel when watching Banzuke or something. The level of elaboration and creativity some put into their costumes and role play is impressive, not always spooky. For people that are still into comic books and stuff like that this must be the Holy Grail.

I actually work w/ a guy who's in his mid 40s and is taking his 2 sons (13 & 9) out there. He's your classically overworked mid-manager & is bucking for a heart attack any day, so it's refreshing to see him so excited about taking his boys to an event that he truly loves (he's quite the comic book historian).
