Ready for the season to start. Like everyone I am hoping for a 10+ win season. Seeing improvement in all areas will be a good thing. Oh yea, 49-0!!!!

I’m right there with you. The off-season silliness posting is peaking (can’t say that I am blameless). Once practice starts, the silliness recedes and we have more of the good stuff. Patience, my friend.

Old gripe but the 2:30 start time is an abomination. Makes me really disappointed in CDC. Before you say it’s TV determined I do not care. He should have said screw you it’s downright dangerous in our heat. Yeah yeah you can tell me to stay home but I bought season tickets to attend not stay home. I don’t care what anyone says this is an insult to both fans and players. No telling how hot that field will be. Turf will probably hit 115 or higher. Bad play DelConte.
 
Saw on the local news tonight (ABC13 in Houston) that 16 people were hospitalized for heat-related illness after attending a concert this weekend at the Cynthia Mitchell Woods Pavilion. Conditions at the Rice game could be absolutely brutal.
 
“Unacceptably” brutal imho. Sat thru games in previous years that I thought were awful (talking due to heat here, not on field performance) but thinking this could be worse. Of course I’m now in the group of ‘susceptible’ to the heat etc., so that may contribute to my consternation with our administrators lack of concern, but still - it sucks.

In this extreme heat an 11 am game would be the best
Temps are many degrees less than afternoon and evening plus sun has not yet heated the turf and stands like will be done by 2 or especially 7 when it is still over 100
I see high schools pushing back starting times to 7

In view of the heat, it would be OK & Fine with me if the LHB performs in their rehearsal outfits instead of their regular uniforms. (which is to say, matching burnt orange t-shirts and shorts.) It would look something like this:


(Hopefully, that opening drum cadence gave you some cold chills. I know it does for me.)

You have a legitimate concern for players, all the people on the field and support band, cheer ,and the people in the stands etc etc. The police directing traffic etc
WHY expose them to the extreme heat?

Thanks, Mr. Jones. This really got my BP (& Horns) up. Gimme some of that Orange Kool-Aide...10 more days & I'm foaming @ the mouth...though I do agree that opening kick-off @ 2:30 in early Sept in Central Texas is a BAD (read stupid) idea. Hope all players, fans & support personnel remain hydrated & healthy.

You’re very welcome. There’s something about that opening drum cadence that gives me major goose bumps, especially at this time of year when we’re counting down the days to the first kickoff.

Current forecast shows a high of 99 F on Gameday.
