Good grief Charlie Brown, those are your only options? Direct TV might be better in this case. I think the problems of losing signal in bad weather have been worked out with stronger signals, just have to make sure the satellite is aimed correctly. And really, that's my only beef with Direct, the possibility of losing the signal when it storms. Otherwise, good signal and lots of channels. Oh, but I think you have to buy the equipment.
Do you have AT&T Uverse in your area? I switched to Uverse from Comcast back in October and couldn't be happier. I've had Dish Network in the past and it was better than Comcast but Uverse kicks ***.
I've had Cox cable, Grande, Time Warner, Dish Network, and now I have Directv... I had more loss of signal with all of the cable companies than I ever did with Dish or have had in the last 2 1/2 years with Directv... I love Diretc... great programing... not the cheapest of your choices, but if thats not the issue, then I'd go with Directv...
I have Cox and have considered switching to DirecTV but have one big beef...their OnDemand sucks (at least how I understand it).
With cable, OnDemand is truly that...you pick a program and it plays. HBO and Showtime OnDemand are great for free movies and keeping up on shows you don't want to record to your DVR. DirecTV does not have those.
My understanding is that DirecTV OnDemand is done through your internet connection....meaning you have to DOWNLOAD programs through your ISP to watch them. This is troublesome for a whole host of reasons.
Can any DirecTV customers set me straight or is my understanding correct?
