The most sobering fact came in the first sentence: Texas SENIOR quarterback Colt McCoy. It doesn't seem like it has been that long.

I had thought about getting tickets for today's game, buit blew it off because football tickets are due this week, and I didn't want to spend the money on baseball tickets.

Now I wish I had.

I'll watch today on TV. My tickets are for the game Tuesday evening - Millwood against Chamberlain. Here's hoping the Rangers can win two of the three. It will also be very interesting to hear the crowd reaction the first time A-Roid comes to bat!

Didn't see it live but they just showed a highlight. Colt took a 3 step drop and then threw it to home plate. Hilarious.

Now let's score some runs!!!

I loathe Yankees fans. I'm pretty well indifferent about their team. Big $$ equals big talent, so they are going to win more than most.

But their fans are some of the lowest forms of life on the planet. Maybe Eagles fans are worse, but it is a close race. Most Yankee fans haven't even been in the tri-state area, but they speak with the faux Bronx accent & spew ****.

After a lifetime of Yankee-hating, I became a fan in 1998 -- they were winning an unprecedented number of games with nobody on the everyday roster that, at that time, could be considered a future Hall of Famer. I mean, they had Tino Martinez at first, Chuck "Are you my da-a-a-a-a-ddy" at second, a young Derek Jeter at short, Scott Brosius (!) at third, a revolving door in left consisting of Shane Spender, Ricky Ledee and lockerroom cancer Chad Curtis, Bernie Williams in center, Paul O'Neill in right and Joe Girardi behind the plate. Now, of course, we know Bernie is probbaly heading to Cooperstown and Derek Jefer definitely is.

They were just fun to watch and I appreciated what they were doing.

But over the years, I have slid back into Yankee hating. The massive wallet that drives that team makes me sick. Anyone who signs on to play with them now, IMO, has sold his soul to the devil.

They should be called the New York Fausts. And the same with the Red Sox. I hate them, too.

I don't like Red Sox fans because they act like they have won 26 World Series. Well maybe not all of them, but enough of them.

Was at the game today. Gave Colt a standing ovation and the horns up when he was introduced. I had to in order to down out the idiot aggy behind us that booed him loudly.
He was actually pretty obnoxious the entire game.

Last year, I was at a Rangers-Red Sox game in Arlington. A Ranger hit a homer. I stood up and clapped. The fat guy next to me (wearing a Red Sox cap) looks up at me and says, "What, are you kiddin' me?"

Ladies and gentlemen, may I present the Red Sox fan.

As someone who silently pulled for the Sox (underdogs), I've grown tired of their fans since the two championships.

They've morphed from passionate, fatalistic, die-hards to mostly obnoxious, pissing on other teams, blow-hards.

There's not a whole lot of difference now between Yankees & Sox fans in my opinion.

Take tonight's match-up as an example. The Rangers will bring out a pitcher who makes the league minimum $400 k and start him against the newly acquired $16.5 million man for the pinstripes. Yankee blowhards will be in the stands talking about their commitment to hard work, excellence as an organization, & just sheer genius of the team and fans. Claiming that is what sets them apart. Then if by chance, the kid beats the mega-million dollar superstar. The fan will retort...."Call me when you have 26 rings". It's like someone saying...."I have a small penis, so I must follow a team that makes me feel really good about myself."

In 1948 I became a Yankee fan. Mickey Mantle has always been my all time favorite.
I have been a rabid horn fan since 1960 and have been attending games since.
I do not think it is fair to sterotype me in a group called Yankee Fans. I certainly resent the venom. Maybe the term should be qualified somehow.
