Just picked this up at the newsstand yesterday. Sweet article on the evolution of Texas high school quarterbacks and how they are starting in various college programs and in the pros. They had a blurb that traced its roots to the change in high school quarterbacks by saying it was because of Coach Mackovic bringing 7 on 7 to Texas in 1992. Apparently there was an article way back when about why California was miles ahead of Texas in producing NFL QB's and it turns out that it was because Cali high schools were running 7 on 7's since the seventies. Later, thanks to Bobby Burton and two other guys they set up 7 on 7 tournaments for high schools thus creating the never ending football season. The old joke being that there was only two sports in Texas and that's football and spring ball. Oh well you got to pick it up yourself to read the full story.
Sweet cover by the way.
