Color Photos from the 40s (new pics)

If you have a chance, look at the link at the bottom of those photos to "Color photos of Russia in early 1900's." The photo quality isn't the best, but they are still amazing. Just seeing the huge variety of cultures across Russia at the time is fascinating.

No ****, thanks for the link. I love when an internet link is fascinating like this and not the usual time waster stuff.

The Link

More early color photography, this time from the early 1900s.

The Lady in the Mongolian Starvation Box is the spookiest thing I've seen in a while. Not the preferred form of execution.

Dahomey looks like morning wood.

There's even one of Nosferatu's hands and he writes a thank you note to a courtesan.

Great stuff.

Oh good grief, that whole site is awesome. I clicked on that Franny Wentzel persons name and they have a cache of old photos posted. I am currently looking at the "I See a Ship in the Harbor" Part 4. It's Ocean Liners post the second war to end all wars.

Sleep loss forthcoming. Freaking wow.

Guys, in the section of the poster I mentioned there is a series of National Geographic features on Berlin spanning decades.

1937
1951
1961
1970
1982
1990
1996

This link is from the 1982. The author asks Erhard Krack, the mayor of East Berlin, what would happen if the wall were taken down. Flat out fascinating.

Buckhorn, thank you once again. That site is amazing.

Berlin: 1982

Nude sunbathing in Berlin? Had no idea. Think of what would happen in an American city if you tried that in public. Sex offenders list.
