College GameDay Oct 11th?

Texas/OU or LSU @ Florida

I don't think we stand a chance, unfortunately.....

They have gone to LSU-Florida the last two years, and haven't been to the RRS since 2002. I can't remember if it was an article or if Fowler said it on TV, but I remember him saying he'd like to go to Dallas.

The 11:00 AM kickoff for TX-OU might dissuade them as well. By the time they get around to their picks, the cheerleaders, bands, and the most rabid fans will be long gone into the stadium.

If they did LSU/FL could then then do FL/Georgia on Nov 1?

Think they'll take TX/OU with the plan to do FL/Georgia.

or maybe they might want Texas @Tech on the 1st.

If OU and Texas are both 5-0, Gameday should be in Dallas.

This will be the fifth week in the '08 season and the fourth week Gameday has been to the SEC.

Clemson - Bama (Atlanta)
Miami @ Florida
LSU @ Auburn
Bama @ Georgia

And undefeated OU vs. Texas game would be a matchup of two Top 5/6 teams...one of the country's best rivalries...a newly renovated Cotton Bowl...McCoy and Bradford in the Heisman race...the 10th meeting between Stoops and Mack...with the Big XII title and a BCS trip up for grabs.

Their absence won't ruin anyone's time in Dallas from either side of the river...but if...if....OU and Texas are both undefeated heading to the State Fair, Gameday should be there.

We have a huge advantage in our game being on ABC while the UF game (I assume) is on CBS. ESPN doesn't outright say it, but all else being equal they favor their own network telecasts.

There is also the fact that the Sept. 6 show was in Gainesville. They can't help but return to some places, but not usually within a month.

The biggest obstacle IMO is UT losing or playing poorly at Colorado.

If Texas handles Colorado, not a gimme by any means, then I believe Gameday will be at Texas-ou. If Texas can beat the sooners, they will be at Texas-Mizzou the next week as well. Agree with earlier post about 4 of 5 first weeks in the SEC. But then again, they still have 6 more parts of the, "Tebow from The Phillippines," expose to air.

Would we rather have gameday up in Dallas, or the next weekend here at home? We HAVE to get one of these games assuming neither team loses imo.

We haven't had much luck when GameDay comes to Dallas. Let 'em go to Gainesville and show up in Austin for what will hopefully be a matchup of top-5 teams the next week.

This is how it must shake down...

If Texas and OU can both stay undefeated, I think OU comes in as #1, and Texas no less than 6, maybe a 5 depending on what happens to other team by that time.

The goal for ESPN would be to work the Bradford-McCoy game in Dallas, and head down to Austin for Chase Daniels the next weekend. That way they capture 3 of the best QBs in the country from the top passing conference this year, and all top ranked teams.

They'll have the rest of the season to play games over in the SEC and have focused on them a lot already. Time for Big 12, and maybe come back for a Tech game later on, or Kansas-Missouri if that holds up.

I just hope Texas can keep winning and wind up #1 by November.
