Hot list:
East Carolina - Gotta start with them. Really, if you watched this game there was no upset. E. Carolina was the better team - the much better team. 14 of VT's 22 came directly off turnovers, otherwise ECU isn't in that much danger that late. ECU also outgained VT by over 100 yards.
LSU - I wondered at the start of the year how LSU was going to come out with a new DC in the first game - against App State no less. Well, I wonder no more. That explosive offense which lit up Michigan last year didn't even get to 250 in total yardage vs. LSU. A dominating performance. LSU is scary good - again.
Terrelle Pryor - Didn't take Tressel long to get him going did it? 15 plays at least. And considering the situation with Wells, they may need Pryor to help win them the game in L.A.
Mountain West Conference - That's right, the Mountain West Conference. That conference had a great day yesterday. 5-1 OOC, and if not for a loss by San Diego State to Cal-Poly, it would have been 6-0. And one of those wins was at Michigan in Rich Rodriguez' debut (more on that later). That top 3 of Utah, BYU and TCU will be very, very good.
Missouri - They have a running game now?
Wow. Watching that offense last year, I freaked at the thought of them having a running game. With any semblance of a running game, that offense is almost impossible to stop. Especially with that guy from Southlake running the show.
Arizona - I think it's a make or break year for Stoops at Arizona, so this is a good start for him. It's only Idaho, but 70-0?
Oregon - Close for a while, but just wore down the Huskies later in the game. IMO, the second best team in the Pac-10.
Oklahoma - My question is, how did they give up a safety? Other than that, total domination. A lethal team this year, to be sure.
USC - Look, I know UVA is barely above average, but 52-7?
Against a BCS school?
They are the team to beat.
And then there's - the not list:
Pittsburgh - My question is, how was this team top 25 material?
If they were before, they sure aren't now. I suspect Wannstedt might be in trouble there.
Virginia Tech - Somewhere in Virginia today, I suspect Frank Beamer is going to regret not playing Taylor right out of the box. There just can't be any way Glennon is the better QB than Taylor. Look, I don't even think that Nebraska's that good this year, and if Glennon is playing in that game I feel pretty good about our chances vs. VT.
Michigan - Not a good way to begin the Rich-Rod era in Ann Arbor, and the game was not even that close. The only reason for the 2 point differential is the 13 gift points Michigan received after Utah was way up. Utah dominated this game otherwise and should have won by a lot more.
Clemson - Are you KIDDING me? They're the best team in the ACC?
Wow. 34-10, against a middle of the pack SEC team. Zero rushing yards for Clemson. Zero. And one more thing...
Tommy Bowden - How does this guy get his two best offensive players only eight carries?
Arkansas - I don't really know what to make of this team. Are they really as bad as the score looked last night or are they saving it all for Texas?
Arkansas fans probably should hope for the latter.
Texas Tech - 24 points against Eastern Washington?
I know the Huskers gave up 24 in their game but at least it wasn't against Eastern Washington! And the Husker game was over by the 4th quarter, while Tech was only leading 35-24 going into the 4th. My opinion, Tech is overrated.
Illinois - You know, I remember something Davie and Jones talked about last night during that game. I remember hearing them talk about Ron Zook saying he scaled down practices in preseason camp there. I'm not saying their season's going to end up like ours did, I'm saying that they were not close to being ready for Missouri defensively. Even though Missouri puts up 50 point games like they're going out of style.

Hot:
Oklahoma State - I think Gundy needs a good year there, so this is a good start for him, and OSU rarely blows out an opponent on the road. Kendall Hunter goes over 100, Robinson has a good game and OSU gets the win.
Joe Ganz - How Phil Steele picked him so low amongst Big 12 QBs I have no clue. He picked up right where he left off last night - 345 for 4 TDs. He did throw two picks but should not have been playing by that point.
Not:
Texas A&M - That program cannot lose that game, at home, ever. Absolutely unexcusable.
Baylor - Bet Briles wishes he was still in Houston by now.
