signed autographs after the 4th on Broadway parade in Lubbock--was disappointed in the turnout, but was good for those of us who got to visit with this years class, along with 2 of the 3 finalist for POY, including winner Posey--just wonder how long it will remain out here, since they have no facilities even planned as of yet--my whole family got to visit with Hooton, Swindell, Gary Ward, Floyd Bannister, etc--Swindell even took my 9yr old son back behind the table with him, as did Hooton, for a photo op and a "Hook 'em"--Ben McDonald was also very friendly towards the group, and we chatted with him--now waiting for Spike to get up here!!! who else would be next?? anyways, thought I would give all of you guys (and gals) a report

I thought a guy in Lubbock started it so that is why it was there. However, there still isn't a building and I heard (can't remember where) that Tech was going to get a new stadium out of this deal but that fell through. Anybody else know anything?

For a long time to come, the HOF will probably have an inductee from UT each year. There are just too many good players from Texas that have to be included.

I was told by a friend that works for Community Development for Lubbock that they originally planned to have it in Wolforth, where they were going to build a stadium for tech and a double-A baseball team--they even can sell beer out there now, but that deal has since gone through--the city is now trying to decide if they want to build a multi-million dollar Visitor's Center, and they may put it there

It is in Lubbok because Lubbock guys had the idea and the 'nads to make it a reality. Omaha should have thought of it first.
