OK - could we put the collective intelligence of HF to work helping a teacher prepare a presentation for inservice??? I am trying to make this somewhat entertaining and my mind is just blank. So maybe I could give some of you something to do in idle moments! Thanks for any help you can offer, the only restriction is it has to be kept clean!
I am doing a 40 minute presentation on Generating & Testing Hypotheses. There are 6 parts - system analysis, problem solving, decision making, historical investigation, experimental inquiry, and invention. I have 3 clips from Apollo 13 to use for system analysis, problem solving, and invention. The clips can only be 1-2 min long, and should illustrate or introduce the concept. They can be from a movie or a TV show.
I think most of the topics are pretty self explanatory except historical investigation. That entails contstructing and investigating plausible scenarios for a past even about which there is no general agreement. For example - Did George Washington chop down the cherry tree?
I am using MediaConverter.org to convert them to a wmv file and save to use in the PPT.
Thanks for any and all suggestions! I know the teachers will thank you too!
