Not trying to start any rumors or bad gossip here... Just looking for clarification. I thought Cokie's experience was ended short by not only complications from surgery but also a bad fit with Karen. Am I remembering that wrong or maybe am thinking of the wrong player?

What does any of that have to do with her coaching with DFW Elite?
And it wasn't surgery complications, it was a different health issue....
Cokie's connections with Texas players such as Tiffany Jackson has more to do with this.

Two reasons:

Number one: I was trying to make sure I had the right player. You are right. It wasn't surgery, it was a different health issue. I remember immediately after leaving the team she sat a few games in the bleachers not interacting with players or staff and there was speculation as to why that was.

Number two: Based on what I heard about a certain player, having them as part of such a hot bed of talent as DFW Elite may or may not be a good thing for us. I hope not. There was a time when one or two unhappy exes caused a recruiting problem. I hope that is no longer an issue. Clearly Griner's issues with Baylor haven't hurt that program...

I remember her fondly and was sad her career as a player came to an early end on the 40 acres. I am glad she landed in a good place.

No issues w/ Texas and DFW Elite for sure...in fact, the opposite...
And, yes, GG "screwed the pooch" when she burned any and all Texas bridges, but I do believe that issue has been resolved as of now....nine years can heal wounds!!

Glad to hear no issues with DFW Elite. Unfortunately or fortunately depending on where you stand, the recruiting issues I was aware of were with Jody in her final years. GG on the other hand was led to believe (right or wrong) that Texas could get anyone without much effort. She made the mistake (foolishly) of believing that. Regardless, Karen seems to be a solid recruiter. Sadly, she has to compete with some really good programs in the conference that geographically make it difficult.
