That Cody F'n Johnson to you!

Heck yeah. First three carries went for 16 yds. And it sucks that his TD got called back, he ran like a bull through those tacklers.

He got alot of reps last offseason and I wanted him to play last year. Glad he is finally hitting the field and making plays. You gotta have a 1-2 punch and we have a ton of guys who are the 1 and just one Cody.

Any reason he couldn't lose a little weight, say 10 lbs? I'd think it would make him that much more effective. I lnow Mack says his weight is not an issue, but I don't think that's a six pack he's carrying around. He runs like everyone hoped Melton would have a few years ago. Very nice center of gravity.

There's been a lot of noise about him over the last year. Glad to see you guys knew what you were talking about.

I was actually thinking he's more like Earl Campbell. Would be nice if he develops into that style and attitude of a runner.

Butch Hadnot?

Yup, that's about right to me. I said that exact same comparison at the game. They looked like the same runningback imo. Hope Cody has more than just a few good games in him.

This kid looks like the real deal to me. I suspect he may be getting carries in lots of places, not just inside the ten.

Reminds me of a Marion Barber type. He (Cody) will punish guys trying to tackle him and push the pyle forward.

I really wanted him to play more last year and as a short yardage back I thought he might have a chance to be the biggest impact guy just for being low hanging fruit (ie, we havne't had a legit short yardage back in a long long time).

I am glad to see him on the playing field now.

I have really been looking forward to seeing cody play ever since he became a horn. It killed me when he had to skip last year because of the shoulder surgery (to fix an old high school injury).

Cody is a multiple threat. He can pass block an LB with no problem and can even pass block a DE because he is nearly as large as the DE and has a much lower center of gravity. He can lead block on runs very effectively.

He is powerful inside runner and could be deadly on the option play. when vince and Cedric were together in 2004, Vince would sometimes run the option and pitch to Ced. Ced was extremely effective on this play because it gave him a way to get to the outside and punish DBs. the same approach would work well with Cody.

Cody can also catch the ball well and will then just run over the DB after he catches the ball.

cody should also be awesome as the guy who pass blocks initially and then is available for the dump pass when the primary receivers are covered.

If the offense wants to be multiple, then playing guys like cody who present multiple threats facilitates that. cody can be a big boost to the passing offense as a blocker then target. He is a big boost to the running attack both as a blocker and as a runner.

One great thing about playing cody at FB is that it gives the offense another running threat that can be used to misdirect the D.

It's really nice to see some of the talent I have been hearing about take the field and start paying dividends for our team. We are gathering an impressive set of weapons...let's just hope they pan out and the injury bug takes a vacation for a while.

I enjoyed watching Cody run people over and score, and look forward to more of the same out of our young guys as they grow up. It will be fun to watch.

CJ is turning out as I had hoped once learning of his commitment. This kid has "downhill bruiser" written all over him. Now then, if he could just manage to one-arm lift & carry a defender into the endzone with him...

Keep up the good work Cody!

I told you Cody was the man at FB. And Tieman is pretty good to.

I have been on the "CODY EXPRESS" for a while now.

I will take a guy who can get more than 3.3ypc or more, on each and every carry, any ole day of the week and keep my defense off the field, ala '05.
