Coaches on the Hot Seat

Just found this. Not sure that I believe much of it because I think several in the top 25 are very safe, possibly everyone because of Covid.

Also, some in the safest seats seem to be getting a lot of grief.

Coaches Hot Seat Ranking
For the most part it's garbage. No way Neal Brown and Geoff Collins seat is even warm. Barring a total collapse Jimbo's safe for 2 or 3 more years.

I don’t think Gundy or especially Patterson are on the hot seat. Those coaches have had more success there than anyone, and at schools with low expectations. Kansas also has low expectations, thought they were crushed by the come from behind win by Texas.

Muskrat was a terrible hire by SC. If he could not win at UF why would he win there? Dude got beat, in Gainesville, at homecoming, by a Division 2 school they hired. That’s like having to pay alimony to a hooker.

Herman is way up on the list with anything but a B12 title. His support after his insults to the fans is mile wide and inch deep. See J Mackovitch.

What a joke of a list. Few, if any of those "hot seat" guys are replaceable because the school can't do any better.

Who will take the Kansas job? Rice? Tulsa? Vandy? UTEP?

In a shortened season, with UCLA, USC, Arizona, among others looking, there are nothing out there but crap shoots

I agree, and now further confused because many of the Hot Seats could not reasonably be replaced. Pretty sure Kansas students don't even know they play football. The last coach at Kansas was actually a pretty good coach and they canned him. TT should get the award for "over reaching" when they fired the Pirate. When all else is said and done, it will be hard to believe any coach will be punished for the 2020 season, except coaches in the SEC that have to defend a season without the 3 Div 2 wins. Could create several losing seasons down south.

I can think of an excellent coach for the Kansas job. And he would be a big hire. A very, very, very BIG hire.

Only Mason and Muschamp are in any real danger. The SC AD for whatever reason loves his current coach.

Herman’s *** needs to be on fire this year because this is TEXAS.

I hope Chris Del Conte already has an eye out for possible replacements, like a good AD would be doing, and he seems to be a good one

OU looks vulnerable this year, but even if they are not Tom needs to win the damn conference in 2020, bare minimum. He’s four years in, no excuses.

Patterson is the King of Fort Worth. TCU and their fans love him. He has changed that program. Plus he beats UT often and sometimes ou. He ain't going anywhere unless HE wants to go.

I would swap Herman for Patterson in a hearbeat. He makes more from nothing than any coach besides maybe the pirate. I have never understood why Most Texas fans do not like him.

In a year where most every athletic department is losing tens of millions if not hundreds of millions of dollars, I seriously doubt there are any firings where contract money has to be eaten in any kind of significant amount plus adding a bigger salary to your payroll for next coach. As for aggy they cant afford to fire jimbo, period, he is there for the balance of his contract unless he commits multiple major felonies and even then they may still owe him the balance that contract is so one sided in his favor.

Because he's had the audacity to beat us so often.
I really don't know anyone who hates Patterson. I understand people don't like the Pirate but I really do. Most of my unpleasant thoughts are centered on several OU coaches past and present and Joe Paterno (bum) and Jackie Sherrill.
Covid will create unforeseen results over the next months, just don't think it is fair to punish most coaches for this year although several will get a pass almost no matter what that they probably would not have gotten otherwise (Helton for example).
