Coaches Dinner

I really enjoyed getting to know all the coaches and the support staff last night at the dinner. I was very impressed with them all, especially liked the strength coach, shawn, I bet he is gonna get those girls in tip top shape.

curious what everyone else thought of the coaches and staff? also did anyone take any pictures?

Great evening. I was very impressed with the energy level of everyone on the staff and the positive outlook. Coach A has assembled an awesome staff and they are committed to return Texas to the top of the women's basketball world. Can't wait for this fall to see them all in action.

Definitely an impressive staff. Couple of things that old timers will be happy to hear about. Karen was very passionate about coming back to Texas as were Travis, Amie and Stacy. The rest don’t have that past connection with Texas but were certainly excited about the opportunity to help elevate Texas WBB.

Got a bit more definition on what Stacy’s role will be. She will be primarily responsible for the advanced camp and will be helping out as needed. Found that Amie had spent the past two years, iirc, working with the SA Silver Stars, primarily the posts. Met Shawn, the only one I hadn’t met. He said that he would be working with the team starting today. He looks like he will put them through the wringer, a good thing to get ready for the season.

Also found that that Angela Ortega and Stacy know Tyler. I’m going there in a couple of weeks for a weeklong convention so I need to hit them up for some tips about good restaurants, drinking places, etc.

There’s four camps starting this Sunday. Show up if you can. Fundamental Camp is June 3-6 for ages 10-17. Advanced Camp is from June 9-10 for players in grades 9-12 (we got some outstanding talent coming to this one), Team Camp is from June 29-July 1 and Day Camp is from July 16-19 for Grades 3-8. I talked w coach Washington and he was very pleasant and seemed honestly excited to be at UT ... Next time we need to bring more shrimp for him

As excited as I was to get Karen and Travis back, plus Amie and Stacy, I'm thrilled with Karen's choice for strength and conditioning coach. Our team is going to be in shape and ready to play 40 minutes every game. I can't wait!
