From a MSU 247 mod on Arnett

" .... As far as LSU goes, I am told that there are a couple of issues that arose in their courtship. Orgeron and Arnett don't appear to be on the same page philosophically. Orgeron wants to run a lot of multiple fronts. Zach is a little flexible with all of that, but is pretty much married to the 3-3-5. I am also told that there was some confusion about Arnett's buyout. It is around 2 million. Arnett signed a new contact that was effective December 1st. With that signed agreement came a huge increase in the buyout. There is a misconception that Zach's SEC buyout is 450K. It's more like four times that. As I have posted on this board before, there is no wiggle room with that buyout. There are no negotiations to be had. Mississippi State will not accept anything less than the full amount of that buyout. Apparently, some didn't get that memo.

I have heard enough from people that I trust that things with LSU and Zach Arnett will not move forward for multiple reasons. I am told a name to watch in the LSU DC search is New Orleans Saints defensive line coach Ryan Nielsen. Nielsen and Orgeron have coached together at both USC and Ole Miss. They are very close and see football the same way. Obviously, that would be a name that would likely make LSU fans happy. That's their issue to deal with.

So what about Texas? Based on what I am hearing, Arnett is a candidate, but not a priority candidate at this time. In many respects, that is the last spot to fill. Texas is a school that has the money to handle the buyout even in these COVID crisis times. That said, I am told by someone with knowledge of the search that the reports last week about Arnett being near the top of the Texas' wish list were premature at the very least. That's not to say that they don't eventually ramp things up with Zach, but I am told there are some other candidates with connections to Sark that will be pursued first....."

One last tidbit on Arnett is that he is represented by Thayer Evans. Maybe he has changed but Evans used to be a world class Texas-hater

Thanks. Sling has been on my radar screen for years. I travel to México often and can only access ESPN through a VPN (but not the LHN, as I have Cox). CBS, NBC & Fox broadcasts are blocked. Sling is an option and I do believe that I can stream through Sling but it would require a commitment that I’m not sure I want to make. But it appears to be the only such service that can get the content consistently outside the US...or it was.

BTW, I can also link to my home laptop through services like Splashtop — and access my local provider — but that requires that I leave my home computer on continuously, and the quality is not consistent. I have destroyed two high end ASUS Zenbooks since 2014 by doing so. In both cases the battery expanded inside the frame, eventually distorting each unit. It’s a defect IMO, and a hazard. Unbelievable.

We have a second home in Tulum and use ExpressVPN and a laptop to stream the US channels. We have AT&T TV for streaming and it has LHN in the pkg. We pay $70/mo which includes HBO Max and it all works thru the same interface with HDMI cable to Samsung TV. Access to Amazon Prime and app channels with the VPN set to FL or Texas is the best.

AT&T TV has a dvr feature so you can record and store in the cloud and play in Mexico.

Watched the last 5 Super Bowls in Mexico with this setup.

Set up for home in Austin and use at the second home in Mexico with only extra cost is the VPN and TELMEX Fiber internet in Mexico.

Two birds, one stone.

Why the hell would this get the poop rating? Does the...person...who pooped this not hope that it remedies itself? Someone let me know. I have that person on Ignore. Not that I give 2 shits what he says.
There are 2 ignore on my list.
The one and only thing it takes to get on my ignore is to constantly be negative. I just can’t take it the ones that are negative all the time seem to think that they’re brighter or more in the know than I am when I’m positive on some things and I just finally got to where.... look you two bone heads-We’re better off being apart from each other.
because we both don’t add value. I’m all for people having their own opinion.
Case in point Texas wins a game and there was two guys that no matter what happened they would ***** “yeah We ran the ball for five zillion yards but the passing game sucked, or I know the defense shut down a premier running back, however did you see the way that one linebacker kept missing tackles? It’s just crap like that that they are entitled to but I’m also entitled to say in the great words of the Governor Rick Perry “

That's how the 2 or 3 on my list got there too.

You make a great point.

But you used the wrong adverb in your 4th sentence.

HIC ignored me for political reasons back when the BLM stuff started.
Not really for any football takes.
I did not ignore him.
And I just can't help but poop him on occasion. :)
I pooped that last post because of his backwards looking "snowflake" description of TH.
Not anything positive he said.
And his acknowledgement of my pooping him leaves me feeling very gruntled. ;)
I did ignore one person in here when things were politically heated.
I have since taken that poster off ignore.
There's not much I take so seriously here that I feel a need to ignore posters.
:hookem::bevo:

We are really just one big happy family here at hornfans.

All evidence to the contrary is just crazy internet conspiracy stuff w/no validity.

When is this **** going to be settled?

I am sure that he is having conversations with multiple people, all of whom have to weigh his prospective offer against "the known" that they have now. Some of these are weighing what Sarkisian says against not only what they have but also against what other schools are saying.

I have been pleased with his approach - arriving what I consider a couple of days early, the video shoot in Memorial Stadium with Bevo & Smokey, press conference, stopping by the THSCA for their board meeting at 9 this morning, calls to recruits and coaches, does he ever sleep?

Sark has hit the ground running and is definitely connecting with everyone he can.Reminds me of another coach when he first got here.
Without disrespecting that coach in any way
I think Sark is also a great tactician.
I think by Aug we will need a much bigger bandwagon.
