LSU game says, "Hello"... I doubt Keontay sees the field next year. He's 3rd string...
I am not sure why you are attributing a team/string to him. I thought he was leaving?? Guess it isn't settled as I don't see his transfer complete.
You may be right if he stays here. I wasn't impressed with his his running ability in our recent system...would have liked to see him in something better suited (who knows?)...but I stand by my comment on his pass catching. The goal line play vs LSU was a one-off fluke. He is very smooth out of the backfield on pass plays and, although a small sample due to underutilization of this in playcalling, it was easy to see what few times they went with it that it was an area where he naturally excelled.
27 rec 170 yds 6.3 avg 2 TDs 2018
29 rec. 242 yds. 8.3 avg. 3 TDs 2019
11 rec. 103 yds 9.4 avg. 1 TD 2020
Some of that was less time as a RB in backfield...but some was poor usage and scheming IMO. But it isn't just stats I'm using... it is also how he looked on pass plays.
Sark has already noted he loves to use RBs in passing game...and he killed Ohio state w it last night...and I was just working off of Sabres comment to say I would like to see what Sark could have done with KI in that capacity. I think he would shine.
And, for the record and to be fair, Bijan also is an excellent pass catching back and, as long as he is healthy, probably not much reason to throw to KI even if he was/is here. I could see a role for him in a more creative offense, though.

I like Keontay, I felt he played well when we needed him and definitely remember but forgive him that one pass. There were too may of those 'one' offs the last few years across the entire team to hold it against him, imo. Besides, I think we have shown that three backs is NOT too many. Too many unforeseen events have been seen in our past years. Hookem :whiteflag:

There was also the fumble at the goal line to lose the TCU game.
No one play loses a game, but Ingram has more than his share of brain farts and lack of concentration.
I think he has promising talent.
Just needs to work a little harder and not fade when the spotlight is on him.

Roach from 247 mentioned that he received several messages last night from Texas HS coaches.

They were all pumped about his playcalling and execution, and can't wait to hear him speak at clinics this year

I agree...but funny you bring up TCU, because he had about a 26 yard beautiful reception and scamper a few plays before that to put us down there. He giveth and he taketh away.
I thought they should have brought RJ in when we got close on that drive...but apparently he was playing injured and they were managing him. Add it to the list of many key moments and factors that were the disappointing 2020 season.

Now that I think about it.
It seems Ingram was limping after that play that got us down there and I was wondering why his number was called on the goal line.
Should have probably gone with Sam on that play.

The moment I wrote him off was the fumble in the OU game last season. We had all the momentum in the world in the 1st quarter, then our team was not the same after the fumble. Don't want to blame the loss all on Keontay, but our staff couldn't motivate against adversity or make adjustments during the game.

Yep...I remember that play and moment and view it exactly as you do. Things like that can absolutely alter games...unless you are an elite team with a huge margin for error...and we haven't been that for some time. It is why these things stand out and matter so much. No one in Tuscalooaa will remember Mac's fumble last night.

Well, also, on that prior long play, he fumbled and got it back. Then, the fumble at the goal line. Then, on our next possession, he fumbled on first down—three consecutive fumbles
