Coach Aston on the JUCO recruiting trail

Texas A&M head women's basketball coach Gary Blair was in attendance at Tuesday's games, as was Oklahoma State head women's coach Jim Littell. Word is that Texas head women's basketball coach Karen Aston will also be making an appearance at the event.

Not sure who she'd be scouting at Trinity Valley as their PG Shannon Smith signed with Michigan, but it sure would be great if it is someone who could help us this coming season.

I'd have to assume that perhaps it is sophomore guard, Krystle Henderson, formerly of Dallas Skylilne and Wichita State; her stats look pretty when compare to that of Shannon Smith:

It appears we are recruiting PG Savannah Carter and Canadiana F Adut Bulgak. Bulgak was committed to UNC last year but didn't qualify.

Interesting.

I sort of misinterpreted that article, as it wasn't implying Aston was strictly attentdng a TVCC game, but the actual JUCO tourney in Salina, KS.

I figured a lot of schools are recruiting the Canadian player at TVCC, but she is only a freshman, so wouldn't be at Division I for another year. For us, while the roster is ever-changing, the roster numbers seem tight , but you never know about attrition.

If this is the same Savannah Carter, seems like she played high school ball in Tulsa, and originally signed with Grambling:

Thanks for the tidbit. We desperately need guard help for this upcoming season; can't really wait for the 2014 class to arrive.

With one definite 'ship still available, grabbing a JUCO guard seems like a no-brainer.

Krystle Henderson is visiting South Carolina this weekend after visiting Tx two weeks ago. Juco Dashawn Harden, transfer from OU, committed to LSU.
