Maybe they should just give up?
Or, if one of either they or MSNBC did, it would at least help the other.

To me, this just shows how polarized the political news audience is. People watch the shows that reinforce their opinions. Fox News does that for conservatives. MSNBC does that for liberals. Though certainly left-leaning, CNN isn't anywhere near as blatantly partisan as MSNBC, so if you're a liberal Democrat looking to have his views reinforced by the "news," you're going to prefer MSNBC. And of course, since Fox basically has a monopoly on prime time conservative news and commentary, it's going to outdraw any liberal network.

Fox isn't conservative. Fox is "fair and balanced".
Thanks for the good laugh this morning.

I usually watch CNN or BBC for international news. Hard to find domestic news that isn't clearly slanted one way or the other. Watching blatant propaganda is a waste of time unless you just want to confirm your black/white view of the world.

Hard to believe 1 million folks watch Rachel Madcow every day.

I'd rather watch The View from start to finish than watch her show.

I use a VPN to watch BBC News' UK feed, and though they aren't anywhere near as baldly partisan as MSNBC and Fox News are, I think they do lean Right - in the European sense, not in the US political sense. Specifically, they tend to be pro-establishment and pro-big business and tend to be dismissive of populist ideas and movements whether Right or Left. They're also very London-centric. If something happens in Manchester or Belfast, they care about it as much as they care about something that happens in Hutto.

I couldn't stand Maddow but I'd say the Bill O'Reilly is equally as shrill and abrasive and he tops the list. I think it's a sad statement that all of those viewers prefer completely biased commentary.

As others have already said, it's hard to find anything that isn't slanted one way or the other.

The internet is even more biased. The front page of Yahoo may be the most biased of all of them.

the chart shows that about one out of every 15 people watches any of this junk.

Considering the quality, I am a bit surprised more people aren't watching these carnival sideshows. The public is so ill informed and disinterested that watching the political equivalent of guys biting off chicken heads would seem to be more popular.

If elections made a difference they would have outlawed them years ago---old anarchist slogan
