Close Encounters of the Third Kind

My five year old son absolutely loves Close Encounters. We had to explain to his kindergarten teacher why his imaginary friend is named "Barry". Since Barry's got a history of alien abduction, he worries about him a lot.
 
Probably my favourite Sci-Fi film of all time. How old was Spielberg when he made this?

I heard an interview with him once describing how he mimicked the scene where Dreyfuss and his chick first looked over the ridge to see the landing sight after the scene in Lawrence of Arabia (one of his fav films) where Lawrence and Ali first look over the hills to see Aqaba.

That was the last movie I saw as a single man-Medallion Theater, Dallas Texas. A week later, it was the first movie I saw as a married man. Medallion Theatre, Dallas Tx. She was impressed.
