Clippers to Seattle?

Would the Clippers ever consider a move to Seattle? Seattle is a top 15 media market without a team and The Clippers are a joke in L.A....

The reason they moved from San Diego to LA is because the owner lived in LA. He purposely moved into the Lakers' shadow, and, as best I can tell, has made good money there.

They play in a state-of-the-art arena, and he'd be flying into a hornet's nest in working out the arena issue in Seattle.

I doubt he would consider it for a second.

Nope, not the Clips. Somebody will get happy feet and want to move to Seattle, but not soon, and not until the town commits to either building a new arena or vastly upgrading Key Arena. I'm thinking an Eastern Division team.

KC is getting nice... I wonder why the Sonics didn't move there to begin with... the digs are nice, the city is nice, and they love their teams, even when they suck.

No...I wouldn't want a Sterling owned team in Seattle.

The next team to move to Seattle will likely be one owned by MSFT CEO Steve Balmer, Costco Founder and CEO Jim Sinegal and other local owners. That group has already offered up a $150M gift to the city of Seattle to be used towards a new basketball arena.

Whether it's an expansion team (unlikely) or an existing team moving to Seattle is anyone's guess.

There is always hope that Paul Allen will move the Trailblazers to Seattle, his hometown. The primary thing holding them there is the new 20yr lease they signed last year.

I've been to neither city, but one would think KC would be better?

I wish the oklahoma douche would've kept his word and at least made a good faith attempt at keeping the Sonics there.

He just wants to look like a hero to the land thieves. He even had a congressman to help him, one he insulted earlier, if I'm not mistaken.

KC doesn't fit the NBA template. They've already failed there, for one thing. Second, they'd be the third team in a relatively small media market.

By and large, the NBA has done well as the first team into a market. I really doubt they would care much for KC, even with a new arena (although that helps).

There's still a professional basketball team in Seattle.
