I don't care much for Eastwood as a director, but I do like him as a person (and of course as an on-screen presence). He is right about all of that. Plus he has good taste in music, and anyone with that kind of good taste should be making the film about Charlie Parker.

He's right, though. I've heard numerous different ethnic groups complaining about those two Eastwood movies and how they didn't depict enough of a particular ethnic group.

For better or worse, those ethnic groups weren't on that island. There are a lot of different reasons for that and most of them are bad but history is history.

So basically, Clint Eastwood is racist because he decided to portray the struggles of a Native American in Flags of our Fathers instead of a black person, since the person was, in real life, a Native American man? Got it. Guess Spike Lee doesn't think the struggles of any minority group but his own are worth mentioning in history.

Tonight, and many other times, I believe that whining ******* like Spike Lee should shut the **** up.

that was NOT "respectfully submitted"

I wish we had a middle finger icon on hornfans.

Spike spews this kind of garbage because he's gone through most of his adult life never being challenged on this nonsense. The mainstream press doesnt have the stones and I'm sure he doesn't read the inteweb political boards, or listen to talk radio much, so he doesnt hear the criticism. Props to dirty Harry, I'll bet this will get back to Mooky and he'll realize that he looks like a big doosh when he says stuff like this.

I'm pretty sure Clint won an NAACP image award about 15 or so years ago for his favorable portrayals of African-Americans in his movies.

I love how the article ends with Lee throwing some more insults out there before saying he's taking the high road and ending the argument now.

Not to legitimize the way Spike went about his criticism, but he does have a point. To not show one black guy in the entire movie kinda rewrites history. I doubt any of the hundreds of black soldiers who participated in the attack considered themselves tokens.

man who cares. no one complained there wasn't a white person in aunt medea's family reunion or whatever the hell that was.

so much of the equality movement is based on ignorance and actually an attempt at prefererential treatment.

Clint should have channeled Josey Wales:

"Mr. Wales, there is such a thing in this country called justice."

"Well, Mr. Carpet-Bagger, there is such a thing in this territory called a Missouri boat-ride."
