Admittedly I didnt read the whole article but I agree. What I do like about Clint is that he is not afraid to attack the basket (rare in a big man)...and appears to have a mid-range shot although he isnt making many in games right now. Put those together and he could be a nice little offensive option. That being said...Clint just seems a little slow to do all those natural mathematical equations that are required for sports. He passes too soon...too late...jumps at the wrong times...etc.
I wish Alexis was not hurt this year because I'd like to see how many minutes Rick would be giving both of them if he was healthy. Last year Rick gave Chapman a lot of minutes over Alexis and I just didnt understand why as Alexis had a nice little offensive game, could jump out of the gym and hustled.
I call him "The Clank." Clint "The Clank" Chapman. I never have confidence a shot he's putting up is going in, and he doesn't, either.
The two most disappointing players this season for me have been Chapman and Hill. I really thought those guys would show more. I continue to believe they have the ability to contribute to a superlative team next year, but I sure wish I'd seen more evidence of it this season. Still, there's a lot of things Chapman does right between the baskets. He simply has to get the ball to fall through the nets more than he does.
One thing that people don't comment on enough is his athleticism. Someone called him a "stiff" in the comment section below Ghost of Roy's article. Nothing could be further from the truth. Chapman has all kinds of athleticism. He just hasn't learned to put it all together.
He needs to develop some confidence first and foremost. Then we'll get to see more of what Chapman is capable of.
Clint is going to be a great player. Hes still young. Ive honestly liked what Ive seen out of Clint all year and if he can get going at the right time, it might be just what we need.
