Currently at a 33-1 home mark with 7 home games remaining, the Cavs are on the verge of tying Larry Bird's Celtics mark of 40-1 set in the 1985-86 season when the Celts won the title over Hakeem's Rockets.

Here are the 7 remaining Cavs home games

Minnesota
Dallas
Detroit
San Antonio
Washington
Boston
Philadelphia

Do you think they can do it? Will they sit out Lebron given the big lead in the East and a certain #1 seed? Spurs and Celtics have the best shot at it, with an outside shot by Detroit.

It'll be interesting to see what happens. I never thought Bird's Celtics could be tied in defending the legendary old Boston Garden but so far the Cavs home court holds the same magic.

Thats a tough schedule but they have been unbeatable at home this year. The only one to get them is the Lakers. SHould be fun to watch.

big game going on vs. Celtics at the moment where it was mentioned that this is only the 3rd time in NBA history where 2 teams already having 60+ wins have met in the regular season.

Cavs still only have 1 home loss with this game and one vs. the 76ers at home. On the verge of history, tying the 1986 Celtics, something I never thought was possible.

Now that the Lakers lost to Portland, it's also a virtually certain that the Cavs will have home court vs. the Lakers in the finals, just as long as LA doesn't stumble in the playoffs (ie Portland).

As a long time Cavs and Lakers fan (since '75 or so), I can't believe that my decades old dream of seeing the two teams meet in the finals might actually come to pass. Hopefully the Cavs can negotiate the Eastern Con playoffs and make it to the Finals. I don't see anyone in the West threatening the Lakes, but I suppose stranger things have happened.

C'mon Cavs, Got To Make It Happen (this was their fight song in the 70s).

the Lakers could use a dependable big man.

Maybe this guy

The Lakers.

I think whoever comes out of the West (50% chance it's the Lakers, 20% SA, 20% Denver, 10% Portland) has too easy a road to the Finals. Once they get there, they're probably going to be playing Cleveland, who had to bust out some tough wins over Boston/Orlando.

The East wins the finals again, in 6 games again.

The Cavs road to the Finals may have gotten a bit easier. It's being reported that Kevin Garnett is out for the playoffs.

yup, the Cavs rested all or most of the starters which is a pity IMO. Paying fans came to see Lebron, some may have travelled hundreds of miles and paid a LOT especially considering if they brought family, only to be disappointed.

Achieving a record would have been a morale boost for the team and would only have required the starters to play 15-20 minutes, just enough to win.

I can see why Mike Brown wanted to protect his players, but there is another perspective, so I can't agree with his decision. Even though he may be coach of the year, boo Mike Brown, boo!

Had they tied this glorious mark of 40-1 and even the 67-15 which is the same as the 1986 Celtics, some would have made comparisons to that Boston team which would be unfortunate since Larry Bird's squad was one of the greatest teams of all time. So in that regard, 39-2 is ok. But then again, I hate to see teams not pull full effort.

You just know Bird, Ainge, McHale and Chief are happy with last night's outcome. Red and DJ are smiling down from the rafters in the sky. Rick Carlise and Bill Walton were on that team too.
