I was buying boots with a recently acquired Christmas gift card in Dallas, 1988?, at Boot Town off I35 and Oak Lawn.
In walks the Notre Dame FB team. The sales guys were putting them in high heeled roach killers, crazy stitching or colors no Texan would wear unless setteling a debt on a lost bet.
Finally I asked a sales rep, like WTH? He just grinned and went about his business stuffing a 300 lb DT from Jersey into his new pair of pointy toed mauve dyed high heeled boots. The Cotton Bowl was buying them all boots for Bowl game gifts.
I recon’ them hats are from the same set of circumstances.

I’m not too sold on Clemson’s qb aggy could make this a game but I think Clemsons defense is good enough to pull it out
