Class Rankings - Interesting

I found this interesting. Someone on the UCLA board put together a formula that ranked the 2011 recruiting classes as per three different services. He then put together a combined ranking taking all three lists into account; so, four ranking lists altogether. The Horns are 6th on the combined list and the Ags 8th (this doesn't take into account Brewer and Bone, the two transfers).

I should also point out that Duke, LSU, Rutgers and Iowa have all signed one additional top 10 player each that were still uncommitted when the poster compliled his rankings. The additions would probably, or possibly move Duke up from 3rd, and move Rutgers into the top 10 on the combined list.

Baylor only signed one player for 2011, Sunejiro Agbuke, a 6-4 post from San Antonio. She was not highly ranked but has a couple of years to develop while backing up Griner.

Yeah, so far it looks like Baylor has just one commit for 2011, and one for 2012 as well. And both are 6'4 posts so you would think they're done with that position for a while. Their roster should be 13 next year but drops to 11 (taking into account current commitments) for 2012, so I expect we'll see them add quite a few more to that class.

I know we discussed Alexis Jones on the recruiting thread and there was some website that predicted she would go to either Texas or A&M, but a poster on the aggie board posted this a couple of days ago...

same as when we got Cokie from the trio of Griner, Cokie and Bone, imo, Horns need to get one of Jones, Jennings or Jefferson in 2012.

As I have repeatedly explained, Joe Montes' formula is ridiculous. He assigns the same value to players like Burdick as he does to Mosqueeda Lewis and Williams, despite the fact that Hoopgurlz has vastly different scores for their individual evaluations. It defeats the purpose of having Hoopgurlz use evaluation scores when he affixes values to them based on the rank without factoring in the scores.

I don't know much about Montes, just assumed he was a random UCLA fan who decided to rank the class. I see your point though; he grouped players by five, so his formula gives #1 Lewis the same number of points as # 5 Forthan. It looks like his overall top 10 feature eight that are also on the Hoopgurlz top 10 classes list, but the order is different.
