is teh suck. Another blown save today against the Braves.

At least Michael Young broke huis 1-for-32 slump with a walk-off homer today.

So that's something. Wilson definitely needs to get his **** straighted out, though.

Guardado needs to be closing right now.

I do not think the Rangers are contenders this year. BUT, if they are going to make a move, it needs to come in this stretch. They just played baseball's worst road team. They really needed a sweep, but I guess 2/3 works.

Now they go on the road to play Washington (who is 5-12 this month) and the Astros (who are 4-15 in their last 19 games). I'd say anything less than 5-1 is a disappointment. Winning 2 of 3 is nice, but with the hole the Rangers dug themselves in early on, it's not going to matter much if they aren't sweeping anyone. It is mid-June and they're still looking for their first series sweep.

CJ has definitely had a couple of bad outings, but I'm not ready to give up on him just yet. Let's see what happens on this road trip. 5-1 would be great, 4-2 minimally acceptable. If CJ gets a couple of saves in those games and rights himself, well and good.

cj was just dropped from my fantasy team. i think the rangers will go to eddie g and cj for awhile.....at least tex took 2 of 3....btw, if anyone out there does play fantasy baseball, morrow from sea is a nice addition to your pen, especially with putz out.

Guardado will probably be a valuable trading chip within the next month. It might be good to let him close a couple games to show teams he still has that ability.

CJ's gig has to be up. just like Benoit was in the 8th. Hicks needs to get his wallet out and and go buy a closer.

Let's be honest...they will go no better than 3-3 in their next 6 games. I just have no faith in this team right now. They can't get any better than 1 game over .500

does anyone remember my run-in with HorninDallas on CJ Wilson. He acted like I insulted his mother by saying he sucked. I like CJ Wilson and he has good stuff. What I don't like is the surfer boy with beads out there trying to force some intimidator look out there which is a joke. he needs to quit with all the samurai **** and just throw the ball. it's a stupid bit that he's trying to do to make himself a mentally tough closer. either you have it or you don't.

"come on cj (chavez), enough with all your samurai (redass)mamba jamba...we're running out of time".

C.J. Wilson didn't have a fighting chance yesterday. He was coming in 18 hours after throwing 30 pitches the night before, and 25 pitches the night before that. He didn't have anything left in the tank, and anybody who knows anything about baseball recognized that and didn't expect Wilson to have a good outing.

Unfortunately, we don't have a guy who knows **** about managing a bullpen in the dugout. We're stuck with Ron Washington. And make no mistake--Wilson's performance yesterday was entirely on Washington.

That's not to say that Wilson is ever going to be a great closer. He's not. But he would be a very good set-up man. Hell, I wouldn't mind Guardado going in both the 8th and the 9th on occasion.

and jamie wright proved he's not a closer in the 14th - 2 walks including the .200 hitting Langerhans and a hit batter, giving way to Dukes who was a one man wrecking crew.

Rupe was fantastic - maybe that means it his turn to close until Hicks goes and gets someone to do the job.

Rupe has been a pleasant surprise and I'm not ready to give up on Wright. He has a VERY nasty hammer and his pitches have tremendous movement. Not saying he should be our closer but he's got talent.

Oh, and we should give a shout-out to CJ for closing it out in the 9th. Padilla with 7 strong and Fast Eddie cruising thru the 8th. Glad for the 8th inning rally so that Vincente qualified for the win.

^I agree, Rex. It looked like CJ was thinking baseball very intently. Nice outing to close the W for Padilla.

Now let's see if they can build on that in Houston. 2-1 is minimum acceptable - a sweep would be nice!

i agree with 3 posts above about how good CJ looked not playing chavez y chavez out there. you'd think the guy watches tom cruise in the last samurai in the pen between innings.

GO RANGERS!

Palabra. Wilson did just what a closer needs to do--10 pitches, 7 strikes. There are days like yesterday when I really start to like this pitching staff.

Truly, I think this team just needs a staff ace. Padilla and Millwood are legitimate #2 guys. Each guy should get you 15-20 wins each season. Gabbard and Feldman and/or McCarthy should be quality #4 and #5 guys. If the Rangers could just find a staff ace and a decent manager, they're World Series contenders.

I would love to sweep the disAstros, and as bad as Houston's been this month, the Rangers should do so. But the pitching matchups look unfavorable, and in reality I'd be pretty pleased with a series win.

I saw Ron Washington at Hobby this morning and I told him to beat those Astros. He said they definitely would. I'm pretty sure he hadn't thought of that already, thus, Rangers win will require Horn69 getting partial credit.
