Christine Michael

I have a few thoughts concerning aggy and their newest 5 star recruit: stud Beaumont RB Christine Michael.

The first thing that you have to realize is that he is the first 5 star recruit they have snagged since Martellus Bennett in 2005, and only the 4th 5 star (according to Rivals) that has signed with their program since 2002, which puts him in great company with Reggie McNeal and Jorrie Adams. Serious company, huh?

1) Does this guy end up being any kind of factor in the Big 12? With the right team, I say the sky is the limit. He obviously needs a good line. Aggy doesn't really have one. Also, he needs a team that has a defense that is worth a darn so as to keep the opposing team's defense on the field long enough to give him the opportunity to really wear them down for some huge 4th quarter gains. Aggy doesn't have that either.

I'm not saying that the kid made a horrible choice, but looking at what Javorskie Lane, Stephen McGee, and Michael Goodson did during their careers (not much) I just can't understand why he went to A&M. OU and Texas have basically taken all the elite Texas Olinemen, so Michael is going to have an uphill battle with that.

2) I also wonder too... will we stoop to their level and have a cute/ girly name for him like they do with all of our star players? We've had Radio, Cart McCry, Cedric Bongson, etc... but short of Reggie "The Real Deal" McNeal (which we called him out of jest and the name wasn't made up by Texas fans) we haven't, as a fan base overall, done that all that much.

It's not like he doesn't already have a traditionally female name, it's just that I wonder if we will actually make fun of it? We did with Javorskie, but like all aggie jokes, they just wrote themselves with all of his crying and ballooning up and underperforming for the past 2 seasons. We can't take too much credit for that given basically everyone was making fun of that dude.

So do we jest at his name or do we save that for the aggies that basically have blackbelts in giving stupid nicknames?

well, the guy hasn't even played yet. I think to make fun people when it's due.

where else would he go? Texas said they'd only recruit one back and OU sucks. A&M might be worse but I guess it may be proximity to home.

He may end up having a decent career with aggy.
If JJ can become any kind of a passing threat, he can then mix that up with his feet - thus making it difficult for teams to focus entirely on Michael. That should open up some holes for both of them.

But then again - they are aggy, and they won't beat us, OU, or TT.

some folks called jorvorskie japorky. then there was "wee ankles" mcneal. we have not always been above dubbing aggy players with nicknames, but i don't think ours ever sunk to aggy's level, either. radio and mushmouth (charles) were examples of thinly-veiled aggy racism, in my opinion. cart mccry was bad as well. it makes me proud that we raise the hookem for an injured player, even if its a $*@$&@ing sooner.

I don't know.

With Sherman and that Pro style offense, with the QB under center and maybe a flex full back....this guy might not be too ******* bad.

We got our guy that hopefully can run from a stand still out of the shot gun.

I can't see myself doing any of the silly stuff aggy does...therefore, no word games with Michaels' name.

He might be the real thing for aggy, but he's gonna have a hard time, having to make his own running lanes. Until aggy gets a decent offensive line, Earl Campbell or Adrian Peterson would have problems making yardage.

The current aggy coaching staff hasn't set the world on fire at recruiting, and I haven't seen that they've done much at developing the talent they have. I'm trying to figure out what they are good at. For his own welfare, Michael had better hope aggy can develop some semblance of an offensive line.

Christine got his name because his mother was totally sure he was going to be a girl and had picked that name out. When HE was born she decided to keep it anyway, however instead of calling him Christ (EEN), they would call him Christ (in), but keep the E.

The kid is a player, there is no doubt about that. A bonafide stud.
