Has anyone heard anything about this young lady? 2015 post that has Texas on her list, according to ESPN Hoopgurlz. I wonder if she has visited? The Link
I read somewhere that Aborowa was visiting Texas in early September. The board had a reference to Prospects Nation but I was unable to find the article. Note that Aborowa is from Nigeria. Her 6’9” teammate, Felicia Aiyeotan, a 2016 prospect, is also from Nigeria. It sounds as though both players are athletic, talented players who started getting basketball training later than most of the highly ranked players. If you follow Coach Aston’s tweets you may have seen a picture of Coach Aston and Asst. Coach G Washington eating in Philadelphia in mid-September. Connection?
I did read on Prospects Nation that Australian forward, Alana Smith, about 6’3 or 6’4, was going to make official visits to Stanford, Texas, and Wake Forest in September. She is considered one of the top International prospects in 2014. She has played on the Australian U17 team.
Based on my Google browsing, Alana Smith may have a more developed game with ‘nice’ athleticism, while Aborowa is still developing her game but has more remarkable athleticism. Either player would be a good addition in 2015 filling in an area of need on a very good roster. They sound like true forwards with the size to play the 5 if necessary. Aborowa is supposed to be a beast on the boards, which would be great with Nneka graduating this year.
Whether we do or do not sign one of these prospects, this is just more evidence that Coach Aston never quits working.
Thanks for the news Longhorn05. I thought we might hear from you when there was some real news! I hope Christina has a great visit. I think she sounds like an excellent prospect and, as I mentioned above, one who looks like she would fill what could be seen as a small gap on a really good roster.
