Chris Simms: Mentoriing V. Young, overcoming all

Chris is a class act and did a lot for Texas football. He deserves a lot better treatment than a lot of our fans give him.

If Texas retired numbers based on class, Simms would be having his retired this year along with Nobis, Vince, et al. F the haters; we were damn lucky to get this guy.

I never understood how some people's hearts weren't big enough to love two kids, BOTH of whom wore burnt orange.

Chris Simms has always represented The University of Texas with dignity and class. Too bad some of our fans don't.

i agree with the sentiments of this post. i never could figure out why fans had ill will toward any player like simms. he didn't get into trouble, didn't embarrass the university, and certainly didn't decide which guy played. if a fan had an issue, it should have been with the coaching staff--especially with mack. i always liked both guys, and i still do today. i wish all of our fanbase felt this way.

Our financial system may be melting down, but with Chris mentoring Vince, and Major mentoring Colt, all seems right with the world.

Chris Simms leaves MORE CLASS in the toilet after he takes a dump than most of his "detractors" who I hope as a Texas Ex didn't graduate from UT.

I loved this article. I e-mailed Cedric to thank him and to ask him to relay to Chris that he has thousands of fans in Austin, including me. I thought it was so cool that he has a Longhorn tattoo on his leg. Go Chris!!!

Chris gets to play a little "Crash Davis" for Vince. Good work if you can get it. He can play a little quarterback to if he is needed.
