Chris Davis

I just noticed that Chris Davis went to Texas prior to Navarro JC. I tried a search on his history at Texas but couldn't find any.

Anyone have any memory of his career with the Longhorns?

I don't remember him being a Horn either. What I do know is that he strikes out ENTIRELY too much. He's fixin to lose his job to Smoake if he doesn't get a handle on hit. Reminds me of Pete Inky (not going to even try spelling the entire name).

After being drafted by the Yankees in the 50th round in 2004, Davis elected to attend school at the University of Texas. He figured to play a key role with the Longhorns as the club’s starting third baseman, but ended up leaving the school for Navarro after one semester

Ignatius...wouldn't you rather have Blaylock DH'ing than Davis? All the talk up here in the Metroplex is that the Rangers need Davis' D rather than his bat.

With younger and cheaper options like Davis and Smoak available, I would be surprised if the Rangers will pay what Boras wants for Blalock.

Keep in mind he's 23. His numbers aren't terribly different than Ryan Howard's were at this point. Davis will always strike out at a good clip, but if he can get it down from that 200 pace he's on he'll be better than fine.

Chris wasn't a big fan of attending class, which turned out to be a very good thing for David Maroul.
