Chicken Marinade

Here is my favorite marinade for grilling chicken breasts. I recommend you marinade them overnight if you can, but at least 2 hours before grilling. Save 1/4 - 1/3 cup of the marinade to brush on while cooking.

This receipe will be enough for 4 to 6 good sized chicken breasts.

Mix in a blender:

2/3 cup of extra virgin olive oil
1 small / medium onion
Lemon juice from 2 medium sized lemons
1 tablespoon of Worchestershire Sauce
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon of celery salt
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon of Tabasco

If you cook more than 6 breasts, just increase your olive oil, add more lemon juice and slightly increase your other ingredients.

SouthernSooner, can that Aloha BBQ Sauce be bought locally any where to try a bottle rather than by the case? Sounds interesting.

We loaded up last time in Dallas at an Asian grocery store. I'm thinking the Asian groceries around Lamar might carry Aloha.

Also, WorsterMan's recipe sounds very good and I'm going to have to try it in the near future.

Thanks SS - I am always willing to try new marinades and will have to try Aloha if I can find up here in the Dallas area.

Worsterman -- We picked our Aloha up at Kazy's near Greenville and LBJ...here's a map:
The Link

Great selection of frozen seafood there, as a lot of the Dallas sushi bars buy their fish from Kazy's.

I used this marinade recipe to grill some chicken breasts tonight. It was good!

I actually didn't dice up the onions in the marinade though. I sliced the onion in pretty large pieces and after I put the chicken on the grill, I put the onion pieces on some foil on the grill with plenty of the liquid marinade and served grilled onions along with the chicken. I think I enjoyed the onions just as much as the chicken.

Easy marinade;

1/4 c lime juice
1/4 cup tequila
1/2 cup olive oil
1 pakcage Italian dressing mix

Put all ingredients into a gallon size freezer weight ziploc bag and mix. Add chicken breasts (I use bonelss, skinless) and marinade 2-4 hours or overnight. This will cover 4-6 breasts.

Grill till done. Serve with Peach Mango Salsa

Lostman I like your marinade receipe and will give that a try probably next week. I may have to sip some of the tequila while I am fixing it... just to make sure it is safe
