I will be in Chicago this weekend for St. Patrick's Day, I am staying in a hotel one block North of the Hancock Building, are there any good Irish pubs or bars in the area that will have a good St. Patrick's Day party going on (preferably something that has the party going during the day, maybe after the parade)?

I will also be in Chicago on Friday for the opening rounds of the tourney. I need to kill some time waiting for a friend to get off of work and would like to watch the tourney at a nice sports bar. Are there any good sports bars and/or bars nearby to watch the tourney at and kill some time? I have read about Joe's on here before, is that the best place to watch the tourney? How about the best Horn-friendly bar to watch us take on NMSU?

Joe's is a good place to catch the games as there are tons of TVs. If you want to stay downtown your best bet is Timothy O'Tooles in Streeterville. It is also an irish bar so it will be realy crowded.

For St Paddys day stuff just head to Division Street and hit all the bars there. This kinda goes without saying but all of the bars will be packed so you are probably best off picking an area or one bar and settling there until late afternoon. Otherwise you run the risk of standing in line to get in somewhere. This is especially true downtown.

I will be there this weekend also with my nine year old son. The parade starts at 12. We are going to the parade and will be at the Chicago River at 1045 a.m. when they turn the river green.

Lots of restaraunts and bars near your hotel.

Should be a nice weekend a little cool but not too bad for Chicago.

The parade is a good one with lots of bands and irish steppers etc.

Have a great time.
