I picked up a 160GB drive the other month for $10 after rebates, so I didn't need a hard drive from the factory in the system. Therefore, Dell credited me $95.02 for the drive that came with it.

$398 + 32.84(tax) - $100(rebate) - $95.02(return of hdd) = $235.82 shipped

Michael -- thanks for the new file/print/mail server!

Good deal. I hate Dell right now. I sent them back a computer we decided we didn't need at the place I work and they lost it. I bought Insurance for it, but now they are wanting another $100 for credit fees for the last few months while we tried to find out what happened to it.

Oh and to the person above me, check out www.fatwallet.com forum on hot deals. Whenever I am in the market to buy something computer related I always look there for a few weeks, and great deals show up.

i usually use anandtech, which usually has the same deals posted.

they dont usually have the local in store specials though.

It's not as great as the $10 deal, but Fry's has a 200 GB Maxtor drive for $90 (no rebates) and a 120 GB WD for $50 (after rebates).
