Chassidy Fussell, a 5-foot-10 combo guard out of Union City, Tenn., has given her verbal commitment to the Texas Longhorns, according to her Memphis Elite club team president Gordon Summerfield. The Obion County Central High star is the third player to commit to head coach Gail Goestenkors from the 2010 class. The Longhorns have one remaining scholarship in the class after the commitments from Anne Marie Hartung and Chelsea Bass.

Texas also has a commitment from the 2011 class in standout guard Cassie Peoples.

Glad for the new addition but is she rated anywhere in the top 100. Also i think that we need some more top rated post players.
 
She averaged 29.5 pts/game in her junior year in high school.

Usually I dont post to much on here. But I am glad to see the recruits that we are getting. Now we are getting big time ballers. That Chassidy and C.Bass are the real deal. Along with Annie Marie.H And just for the record, being rated coming out of high school. Do not necessary mean you are going to be good player. As we seen with some of the recruits we have now, that were ranked up high. So stop thinking that we are not recruiting good players. Look at A.Fontentte she was not ranked at all.And was better then some of the freshman that were ranked. Its based on spoting talent early that is not ranked. Watch as the season goes on the recruits we have will go up in the rankings. BASKETBALL is just like any other sport.Rankings a lot of time is based on who you know and who you play for. So please stop looking at ranking. Just take a glance over at Tenn and Duke. A roster full of ranked players, but barely did better then us last year Gail I am pride of you and your staff for the hard work. Keep up the good job
 
From what i saw of her at the advanced camp, she definitely deserves being in the top 100. She's a baller alright!!!

Hot diggity dog! Welcome, Chassidy. Horns got an outstanding 3pt shooter, all around scorer and team player with Chassidy.

Only thing I can think why they think Horns only one more ship is that there are four seniors. Still need at least one more to be at 10 players next season. I would expect at least a couple more committs this year. I recall from somewhere that Coach G likes having a small roster but I think she was talking in the neighborhood of 11-12 players, not 9 or 10.

Just a bit more info. about Chassidy. Her AAU team (Memphis Elite) won the 16U championship in Orlando, FL last week. Chassidy also received the MVP honor. Here is the link to the article.
