Any suggestions on things to do and restaurants? We (wife and another couple) are going to Wild Dunes next Fri - Sunday. (We live in the Daytona area, so it's not a bad drive.)

Anyway, my buddy and I are golfing on the "Links" course at Wild Dunes Saturday morning and we don't have much planned after that.

I've looked online for a few places to eat and found these places to be interesting:

- 82Queen
- Social Wine Bar
- Chai's
- Grill 225
- Charleston Cafe

For those that have been, any feedback? Any others that are a must? I'm open to hole-in-the-walls as well as nice, local places. What about nightlife?

Depending on how much you're wanting to spend, there's a restaurant called Slightly North of Broad. (S.N.O.B.) I had one of the best steak dinners I've ever had there. Great atmosphere, great service, and great food.

If you want a place for lunch/brunch, there's a place called The Hominy Grill that has the best cheese and shrimp grits ever. It was so good I bought their cookbook.

PM me if you have any other questions.

A place a little outside of downtown Charleston in the marshes is Mimi's Creekside. Sunday brunch is excellent.

Downtown - Coast is pretty good. You can guess what is served. The atmosphere was nice.

Touristy - Hyman's is the true tourist trap, but the hush puppies are the best ever.

We've been here for a little over 2 years and enjoy 82 Queen alot, its outdoors in a courtyard with excellent food and easy to get a table. Other great meals are magnolia, cypress, hank's (great seafood) and anson's. S.N.O.B, Circa 1886 and Caroline's are great $$$ places (head chef at circa 1886 is from san antonio). Oak is an amazing steakhouse. Hyam's seafood is tourist trap--much better places out there. Those are all on the pennisula. If you're staying near dunes...red drum is a great place to go in mount pleasant (chef from houston---ran cafe annies' before moving). and finally Mimi's creekside is a cool place to eat (on the marsh- pretty) its on James Island which is south of the pennisula and i live a few blocks from it and eat there pretty frequently.
chai's is good as is charleston cafe. the other 2 i haven't been to. PM me if you have any questions.
