Charles Barkley FTW

One thing about Barkley too is that he is very pro gun rights. The concept of right to self defense is not lost on him.

I find myself agreeing with Barkley. There was a lot of wrong and stupid that happened that night. Everybody lost.

Charles just spoke for me, one-thousand percent.

I'll bet the majority of liberals and conservatives are more like Charles Barkley in clean straight thinking, but get mis-represented sideways and to the edge when spoken for by others, or when they get in a herd and go with the group.

I believe there is a basic American who is not all of any party by definition. I'm that way.

Charles really is one of the brightest clearest-thinking persons who gets before the public.

I think most of us are not political. Because being political is to be a conduit for political power, with corrupts judgment. You end up being a fool on either the left or the right or even the middle.

The trick is to think like a human being; not a political being. Charles does that, if you ask me.

I'd probably vote for Charles. He seems honest if nothing else. I mean who else would say the things he has said over his life publicly if he wasn't speaking what we really thought?

The best and worst thing about Charles Barkley is that he says what he wants and he says what he feels and doesn't care what anyone else thinks about it. In this situation he definitely gets it and I find this quote to be perfect:

In reply to:

Barkley is not always speaking wisdom that I agree with, but he does speak his mind regardless of political affiliation. That, in of itself, is refreshing.

Sir Charles.

Yesterday a couple of co-workers made veiled references to my being racist, at least in this matter. I countered gently that imho it was they who were quick to racism and left it at that.

One of them speaks sports with me on occasion and I brought up the NBA and the off season stuff so far. I brought it to the announcers who we have agreed are awesome and I know he's a big Charles Barkley fan. I asked him who he, as a black man, respected more and did more for the people...Charles or Sharpton OR Jackson?

Charles, of course. Then I pulled up the article of what he said on my phone and got some water while he read it. I got a text from him a few hours ago saying he had done a rethink of things going on and could we have lunch on Monday.

Awesome story loop. It's sad that we are at a place where two people can say the exact same thing and one is a genius and the other a racist based on the color of their skin. Where does truth regardless of the color of the messenger fit in?

Nice story. One problem is when people believe only whites can be racist. Charles points this out in his analysis. Anyone is capable of being a racist. In the Zimmerman case, the only evidence of racism came from the creepy *** cracker testimony.

As for Obama, he showed no leadership or integrity in his speech. He pandered to the NAACP racists to maintain his black legacy, even though he is white African American.

Without racism, Obama, Naacp, Sharpton, Jackson, Wright, and most libs, would be outta work.

I am not going to say "I told you so" if we have lunch over this. That's not what it's about but it will be tempting. I think it took a lot of class for him to text me that and that is what sticks out to me. There is nothing wrong with changing ones mind but yeah, as said above it's too bad it takes somebody else saying the same thing already said.

Regarding Obama. I voted for him the first time but he was my third choice among candidates. I very much did not like the offering of the R's. The second time around I voted Libertarian (Johnson). I am not an Obama guy but am closer to the whacky liberal left as they are called than the bigoted angry right as they are called. I truly am in the middle.

However, I found it disgusting how he used his elected position to say what he did and how he did it. He's not a dumb man and he has good people around him, usually. I guess if it did some good appeasing small minds and big egos, fine. But it did nothing to address real problems and made him come across as a douchebag for legitimate reasons.

I don't bash what he does on holidays, where he travels nor the other things many here do. I'm not tickled by it. But this, this got my goat. So much so that were he to run for his second term now, instead of reaching term limit, I would go out of my way to deter people from supporting him. He's almost pissed me off and I am ashamed for him.

When smart people say dumb things.

Ah yes, Charles Barkley. What was his exact quote? "I hate white people" ? Guess he does know for a fact some blacks are biased. Wonder what would happen to a white commentator that said he hated black people? Barkley gets no pass from me and he damn sure isn't some social race healer/pundit.

I did not like how he mentioned things like being followed in stores. Big deal, so have I, many times. He acts like he's trying to relate to people really down and out or have experienced real tension. Having light skin and living in one of the two worst areas of D.C. in the early 90's, that's tension. Reverse but tension for sure. I have seen more racism and tension than Obama. Yet he will stand up there and preach one side of it.

I don't think this was an issue to put personal bias, especially when it does not include facts, but he did. I think it did more harm to the cause or cure than silence or being more on the fence. He does that well.

Chuck is going off on the race hustlers on the Dan Patrick show right now. Pure greatness. He talked a lot about how 95% of black people are killed by other black people but there is no money to be made there for the hustlers. He was asked if he ever played with a racist and said yes, it was a black guy that hated white people.

I did not hear it but know that he and DP have a good rapport and goof around a lot. I love when he's on the program. Was he goofing around and talking about himself and his comments that got blown out of proportion? People were lambasting him when he said it yet they did not know his wife was white.

A lot of people don't "get" Chuck which is a shame because he's really fun.

Seattle, why did he need to comment? He had already said if he had a son he would look like Trayvon. Clinton was President when OJ was acquitted. Did he respond and tell whites to be calm? As furious as I was at that verdict, it never occurred to me to riot and burn things.
