Chaos on ******** Mountain

I have a question for people who watch Fox News. Do you watch it for entertainment, realizing that they are in fact ******** Mountain? Or, does anyone actually take them seriously and buy into them being fair and balanced?

Almost every network and cable news source represents slanted ********. FOX is only different in that they twist facts to suit conservative causes rather than left-leaning ones.

Life was better before Chomsky started posting time-wastes on West Mall. For every Satchel we catapult, we inherit a WashU. Sigh.

I watch it here in the Azores because it's the only US news channel I have. (I also watch BBC World News, a little CNN International (though it sucks for an overseas news channel), SKY News, France 24, and Al Jazeera.) When I was in Texas, I watched a little of all three but not very much of any of them and put little stock in what I heard on them.

The clips are funny as hell. Frankly, I don't blame Romney and his campaign for putting the spin on the story. We assume campaigns will do that. Besides, what else is he going to do? It's either spin the story or quit the race.

However, "news" sources step over the line when they carry water for a candidate, which Fox clearly does. Obviously, it isn't just Fox. MSNBC would do the same thing if there was some video of Obama saying something politically damaging.

Fox is the only one that leans right.

I have never heard anyone as biased as Chris Matthews. He has homo-erotic thrills up his leg on camera over Obama.

MSNBC and Fox are pretty much equivalent. Don't forgot who hosted Keith Olbermann for many, many years and continues to back "fair and balanced" commentators like Rachel Maddow, Dan Abrams, and Chris Matthews. I thnk Abrams is not in the executive suite.

Michtex-

Noticing that Bush is not a pansy like Obama and can throw a baseball is not the same as getting a homo-erotic thrill up your leg. Matthews is an admitted democratic voter.

Mich,

I'm not surprised that Matthews has had favorable things to say about Bush in the past. I actually used to like Matthews before MSNBC made a conscious decision to abandon all sense of political balance. He always leaned to the Left, but he was much fairer 8 or 10 years ago than he is today.

I have no opinion on the matter: I haven't watched
Fox in at least five years and so far as I can remember I have never watched that other one.

Getting your news from television is like getting your groceries from a feedlot.

This coming from the Huffpost? Yes, MSNBC and Huffpost are ALL about unbiased news. Maddow, Sharpton et al are just the tip of Obama lovefest from that organization.

I can see why supporters would want to cite an opinion piece from a comic
Supporters must have cringed to read BO admin people funneling criticism of one of their own US attorneys to Media Matters
cuz hell yea an opinion piece from a comic is so much more relevant that FACTS about how sleazy the BO admin is

keep up the good work wash

Horn6721, watch the video again and ignore everything Jon Stewart says. The result is just as hilarious without the commentary. It's not rare on the campaign trail to see 2 or 3 different versions of the truth, but it is hilarious when it those competing versions all come from the same source.

Good Lord. We are doomed, as a democracy cannot exist without educated voters. And we no longer have that. Instead of arguing about the networks, let's look at what has happened recently. An Ambassador and three others are murdered. The White House and media immediately blame it on a video. Even though it happened on 9-11 it's blame the victims time. Then it was "we don't have enough info" and yet now it was, according to the WH, obviously a terrorist attack. So what would be the reason for denying for 9 days that it was a terrorist attack on 9-11? Duh - everyone has blamed it on a video and now forgotten that a terrorist attack happened on BO's watch. Bingo!! Strategy worked! All is great!

Obama's people didn't want to call it a terrorist attack not because they thought people would blame them for it. They didn't want to call it a terrorist attack because it would piss off the public and make them want a more confrontational leader on foreign policy.

Obama wants to run out the clock on the election because he's leading where he needs to be leading. If the focus of the campaign season changes, it opens an opportunity for Romney.

It's all in the facts. You use them you have credibility. You routinely ignore or distort them, you only get viewers who want cheerleaders for their side. FOX is defnitely the "Go team Go network."

Isn't it really one in the same? "We" made the video and "we" are the victims.

I say "we" made the video, because by apologizing for the collective "we" aren't we saying "yes, America was insensitive" even though really in a country with free of speech, a handful of idiots are entirely capable of coming up with this crap on their own. I assure you I had nothing to do with it so no apology on my behalf is necessary.

I'm fine with saying "you guys say you are mad about this video, I want to assure you that this video does not speak for the values of America as a whole." Then treat it for what it is, a calculated terroist attack not a spontansous uprising against a video. To be fair to the WH, they've kinda just sat back and let things happen. IMO it's been more the media that's perpetuated the "this attack was because of the video" nonsense.

Roger, I can absolutely say that I will not vote for G W this election. I can safely say that I will never vote for him again and I don't think anyone else should vote for him, either.
