Changing the Horns Down Narrative

So, you’re Oklahoma, you just played pretty well and won the Big 12 CCG, and you decide to take a “Horns down” team pic??? (Put aside that a couple of guys have Horns sideways etc.) I think this is pretty good proof that no matter how much OU wins, they will never conquer their fixation/jealousy of UT and its traditions. It’s like the person who keeps talking about their ex while at the same time saying they are in a better place. Perhaps some of us have made too big a deal of the Horns’ down deal, but to me I think we should embrace it as a reflection of the strength of our program, our traditions and our fan base (which was excellent last night). After all, the Horns’ down sign has become a part of not only OU’s identity but also almost every other Big 12 team’s — it even shows up in games we aren’t playing, eg, OU vs. WVU. Even when we aren’t present, we are present! And, even when we lose, we are still hated! Personally, I love it.

As an aside, anyone want to bet on the minimum number of Horns downs in OU’s bowl game?
