Re: Rossi
The more I think about this, the less I think of it. Pleaze let me 'splain.
When I first got down to Buenos Aires, I took Spanish classes with a German girl. She, her roommate (guy), and I became good friends. They were both born in Germany. It turned out that she was engaged to "an Italian guy" back in Germany.
Here's what I came to find out:
1) Her roommate... Was officially "Bosnian" even though he was born and raised in Germany.
2) Her fiance... Officially "Italian" even though he was born and raised in Germany.
Europeans look at nationality differently than Americans do. For many generations (up until about one or two generations ago), the people in Argentina considered themselves Europeans who just happen to be living in the New World.
I certainly consider myself "American" and not Argentine, but then again, I was raised in the States. But if I had a kid, I would raise as an "American"- i.e. No mullets, no using "boludo" in the house, no facial pierces, showers more than once a week, spicy food... He wouldn't be "Argentine". Especially if my wife was American as well.
So we see Rossi differently, but in his house, he was always Italian.
GAME OBSERVATIONS-
1) Donovan didn't even make the bench in a game Bayern won 0-5 (on the road!!!)
2) Europeans finally scored in bunches. (All Bayern's goals were from Euros.)
3) Israel 1 - 0 Spain (I think in general Benayoun is too much of a woose and takes to long to get rid of the ball, but his header goal was the only goal of the match.)
