CFB Playoffs Announcement

Deo Gratias
Here we go boys and girls. I haven’t slept in two and my heart is racing. I’m excited but aware they won’t hesitate to screw to get an SEC darling in there. I need a drink! :beertoast:

All 15 of ESPN's analysts have 1-3
Mich
UW
Texas

8 have FSU 4th
7 have Bama 4th

Of course this is just an echo chamber on this board but which fan board isn’t?

Aggy says:
1. Bama better today though they barely beat Auburn last week.
2. Ignores that Texas is playing better after a season of injuries
3. Mentions the close KSU game while ignoring our starting QB didn’t play.

Fortunately, the Collie Station fan base has this much influence over the CFB selection process:

I bid you all adieu. But around 11 am today I'll be visiting the fine folks over at texags. Aggy pain is delicious and their tears are like ambrosia to my soul.

Last night, after the game, my wife and I went to the Mall and took pictures of the tower. It was very quiet. Just like any other night. I thought that a bit odd but it was nice for us as we spoke to a 76 year event planner who was hanging around. He likes to dance the Samba.

So after all that and a good nights sleep, along with a review of many opinions, I think this should be it:

Michigan
Washington
FSU
Texas

It's the easiest answer. You have three undefeated conference champions and a one-loss conference champion who beat the SEC champion, who beat Georgia. Ohio State is out because they did not win their conference or play in the Big Ten championship game.

It feels clean to me.

I'm sure y'all heard this, but yesterday during our game it was mentioned that no team rated below 6th the week before the final poll has ever made it into the final four. It'll be nice if, in addition to making the final four, we also make a little history.

The committee proved they couldn’t be trusted with the Ducks over us even after we demolished our common opponent Tech.

The cynical part of me has taken over and right now I fully expect Texas to get a 2008 style shaft. If actually playing on the field matters then Texas and FSU should be in at 3 and 4, period the end. FSU did everything they were asked to do and Texas won the conference and in the selection with Bama as the other conference champ, Texas beat Bama, so anywhere but rational world it should be case closed. But this has never been about rational decisions and the SEC bias is so strong that i just see Texas getting screwed. Man I hope I am wrong.

I saw that too but we could really be considered 6, not 7, because Ohio State was just temporarily ahead of us and Bama.

Fat fact: SEC’s best OOC win was Louisville.
WOW!, but it plays into the $EC's propaganda machine - the league is so tough that we have to save ourselves for those games. Realistically, this is football's answer to a single-branch family tree.

Absolutely agree. Who’d want to join those blatant self-promoters?

Just for turds and giggles, just went to StubHub to check for championship tickets. They have them and they are expensive. My question is who owns them and how did they get them?

aggy - just in case they get in the top 4

as a backup plan, they can sell to cover that $76M payout

I'm not sure why the media would be pushing Alabama over us. We have a lot more fans nationwide than Alabama, and we'll be a huge draw. And now we're moving to the SEC.

Just be thankful Notre Dame isn't in this mix.

It's not a democracy, it's elitist. My Father was a Political Science professor and his favorite text book was, "The Irony of Democracy." Long story short, we are not a democracy but a country ruled by elites. Same here.

We are possibly going to witness a clinic in raw power.

Of course, Aggy, Nebraska et al will say Texas lives by the sword and should die by the sword. The sword of power.

So this would mean a final four of:
Washington
Michigan
Fsu
tosu or Georgia

Now wouldn’t that be something, and totally discount the entire process.

Maybe so. Sucks, but it could be so.

UT-Austin punked the SEC's premier team and program in their own backyard. I don't know if that's ever happened since Saban took over there.

Texas probably has the biggest fan base in the nation (Notre Dame and USC might challenge us there) and draws the most fans for television. We also sell the most fan gear. Brand recognition -- we've got to be #1 with our Longhorn Head. And now we're going into the SEC, so we've cast our lot with that group. When they added Texas, the SEC didn't get another Mississippi State, Arkansas, Vanderbilt, or A&M. Rather, the SEC got another big-time blue blood, already on the level of Bama and Georgia, and rising rapidly. These things point to a "power play"--in our favor.
