Censorship; Does US = China?

Oh, Mus, there's no comparison. The government is behind censorship in China and directs everything. But in the US, private companies can choose to accept and not accept what they allow.

Yeah, right. If you believe these private monopolies aren't heavily influenced by:

a) Threat of government regulation
b) Government infiltration

then you are deluding yourself.

The differences between China and the US in terms of censorship and government control of the narrative is just a matter of degree. The Chinese government implements censorship directly via brute force whereas the US Intel Agencies accomplish the same thing through proxy. Where does it end? I think it only gets worse.

I'm more worried about Big Tech being influenced by China than I am our own government. And that's sad.

Mus I agree on the control but not sure I agree that Govt controls the tech giants as much as I think Tech controls Govt. Maybe it’s ‘chicken v egg’ type argument but it’s the Corp that has the controls in my opinion.

There’s definitely a marriage between big tech to both the liberal and deep state elements of the government. Any conservative or libertarian members within government (and there aren’t many) have no voice.

This is the most reasonable and likely answer. The US has a proud history of public/private cooperation, usually at the expense of citizens.
